did Jack Hughes going to the Olympics make me write something for the first time in almost 2 years…. Yes he did. I also typed this all my phone so sorry if the format is shit. and it’s also not good writing. So sorry.
Jack FaceTiming you during the season when on roadies is always an automatic answer, but especially when he’s at the Olympics and 6 hours ahead of you.
“Hey baby.” you say as your phone finally connects. “How’s the village? How’s rooming with Quinn.”
“Eh whatever” he answers quickly before adding, “that’s not important can you believe what happens in this book?” he says as he holds up his copy of The Odyssey.
Suddenly looking at your phone as you sit up, your eyebrows frowning suddenly. “You called to complain about The Odyssey?”
“Not complain. Tell you” he defends himself as he flops on his twin size bed in his room.
“Jack. We’ve been over this, I read it in school I know what happens-“
“But, they ATE the lotus. They don’t care about returning home” he complains.
“Jack, if you’re still that early into it, I think you better buckle up.” you say fondly. “Why don’t you go hangout with Quinn? You guys should find the tiramisu everyone’s raging about. Tell me if it’s as good as people hype it up to be.”
“The what?” He asks confused.
You roll your eyes lovingly at your boyfriend, “you are ridiculous how do I know more about what’s happening in the village and I’m an entire continent away!”
“I love you, you know that, but please and I say this with love stop being a nerd. Go out and enjoy the village, meet up with other athletes, meet the QuadGod or hangout with Snoop!”
“Snoop is here?” He asks, and before you can answer you hear Quinn groaning the background. Jack turns his head quickly in the direction of his older brother.
“Jack! Even I know that!” Quinn groans. “Get off the fucking phone, and turn off the light before I throw something at you, I’m trying to take my pre-game nap.”
“I love you Jack but I’m going to hang up before your brother kills you.” you say with a smile on your face.
“He’s not going to do-“ but before he can finish the phone is slapped out his hand and you hear what sounds like the two boys fighting.
“Goodbye boys” you sing as you hang up the phone, laughing at yourself and how ridiculously nerdy and lovable your boyfriend can be.
