its ok theyre Gods lil helpers
And boy are they clumsy
Hi, these bees are babies! They’re not clumsy at all, this is what is called orientation flights. After birth and before beginning their careers as foragers (as all Honey bees cycle through all the jobs in the Hive throughout their lifespan), Honey bees take short flights back and forth, to and from the Hive, to orient themselves with their wings and their home so they can learn its location and how to get back home after foraging! Everyone has to learn, these are just smol little baby turkeys. Bees use the angle of the sun for location so adults have a better and more direct sense of location than any human
IM SO PLEASED TO LEARN THIS!!!
They are just!!! Student drivers!!! 😭
BONK!

"I am not a vessel for your good intent" goes hard as a line from a disabled perspective. Abled people care so much more about being their idea of a good ally than they do actually being a good ally. They shove their good intent right down your throat and then act surprised when you tell them they're suffocating you.
[ID: An image of a sign with a blue background and with a graphic of a stick figure in a wheelchair at the beginning, resembling disabled parking space signs. The text below the stick figure reads "I am not a vessel for your good intent." /ID]
tumblr is great and all but ya’ll are missing the woman in one of my cat fb groups that has birthed her own tier 1 meme
Strange haunted photo where Winifred looks like she's a painting
I have placed her in a more fitting setting
For the first time in my tenure on tumblr, it's "THAT'S A PHOTOGRAPH?" and not "THAT'S AN OIL PAINTING?"
This Dan Piraro comic always makes me cry.
When I lived in London there was a murder of crows that lived near me. I fed them often, they brought me presents (shiny rubbish and cigarette butts they found on the floor to thank me.)
When I moved, I’m certain they understood I was leaving because I had all my stuff and gave them lots of food and compliments.
But, they chased down my friend who lived in the next burrough over. They had recognised that friend with me several times and followed them to their house when they couldn’t find me.
They adopted my friend and it was now my friend’s job to bring them snacks and receive the presents.
This was maybe 6-7 years ago.
I visited London last year. Went to see my friend. The crows all not only recognised me, they tracked me down. We got into my friend’s flat and not twenty minutes later there was chaos on the balcony.
We open the curtains, the entire fucking murder is there shouting because they wanted to see me.
Crows are the very best birds.
when england lose, women bruise
Not book smart or street smart but a secret third thing.
pattern recognition
give it up for what i didn’t know before by ada limón everyone please clap for what i didn’t know before by ada limón
having a job is very weird bcos by and large your coworkers will be a variety of ages and you will not all be at the same stage of life. your coworker will be like, well I’m off home to spend time with my husband & child, what are you going to do with your evening? and you’re like, well, I plan on playing Rollercoaster Tycoon for as much as it as possible
And you are older than them
Coca Cola flavored Oreos taste like if you could eat clipart
These taste like an abstract concept. Summer Vacation flavored. Yankee Candle ass cookie.
this just keeps being relevant
This skit absolutely slaps forever but I have to tell you guys the secret.
The weird Oreos don’t sell… but the weird Oreos just being around and visible make people buy more regular Oreos.
That’s why.
The weird Oreos DO sell, but my housemate is the one buying them all
I think they add an important element of randomness to the environment. My father in law bought 6 or 7 boxes of the Selena Gomez Oreos so he could set a Selena Gomez Oreo alarm to go off mid workday and then say to his coworkers, "Oh, my Selena Gomez Oreo alarm is going off!" and unearth from his locker his 6 or 7 boxes of Selena Gomez Oreos so he and his coworkers could distribute them around the neonatal ICU ward where they work. He said it livened up an otherwise extremely dreary day.
According to the books I’m reading (either Salt Sugar Fat or Ultra Processed People) they do these weird variations to take up shelf space.
So they don’t intend to sell many of the weird versions, they only want to take up space where their competition might encroach on their territory.
Here's the thing: these are simply marketing tactics of predatory capitalism. Kraft manages to sell cheap, adulterated, imitation food at max profits despite the slop of it all because they've engineered an addictive consumer experience from the time you walk into the aisle space they've bought up in the market to the hyperpalatable product that never truly fills you up like real food would. The plethora of options, including the rotating, strange or niche, is by design there to flood you with a false sense of choice and empowerment. Anything to draw attention, engagement, and sales. In the age of social media taste testing and viral trends, they don't even need to try as hard anymore! Consumers promote the products for free. Kind of like this post. Anyways a wall full of a dozen options of slop is not freedom. It's a scary indication to the contrary. Well-studied psychological tactics of powerful and destructive companies such as these need to put us on higher alert.
