Hello, hello! I think this is my first time dropping an ask :o what an absolute crime! Now, this Ask is out of genuine curiosity, but also because I find this particular question oddly amusing (especially given your response to my own post when I answered it), so now I’ve found my way here.
Dear Lia, what is your type?
I’d like to hear—read—it in your own words. Maybe you could answer the question much more eloquently than I did. Or maybe you could rave on about Cate Blanchett and get really silly with it (I’m glad you have a liking towards her as well, but then again, who doesn’t??) However you choose to respond, I’m on the edge of my metaphorical seat! 🌻
I am delighted, positively overjoyed, to find you in my inbox, like a very elegant visitor arriving unannounced at a slightly chaotic house. But yes, I am excited. Possibly too excited to talk about women..
Thank you for your ask. I will attempt to answer it with grace, eloquence, and at least the illusion of emotional composure. Though I must ask - should I stand upon a chair as one does in childhood recitations, hand upon heart, ready to declare my poetic truth to an imaginary courtroom of judgment?
How does one compress an entire thunderstorm of lesbian yearning into a polite paragraph? It feels slightly illegal to even attempt..
Let me begin plainly: I adore women - entirely, hopelessly. In a way that should probably come with a warning label and possibly a small fine.
If we were to speak in the language of simplicity, yes - personality outweighs appearance. But that answer feels like calling the ocean “a bit of water.”
So instead, allow me to present a more accurate depiction - Women are my natural habitat and my moral weakness.
I would show you a picture of my “type” here:
And yes… I did see your post. I noticed your quiet confession about older, more dominant women. And I must admit - it was strangely comforting, like seeing someone else admit they, too, have been struck by divine nonsense.
So yes. I will say it with full honesty and mild trembling: I am very drawn to older women.
Not in a “please carry me through life in your arms” way. More in a “please exist near me with confidence, direction, and a voice that makes my brain forget basic arithmetic” way.
I am not looking to be managed like an object. I am very capable. Slightly too capable, even. What I crave is presence, guidance, calm, grounded kind of authority that does not erase me, but allows me to exhale. And in return, I love deeply, almost offensively so.
I suppose my ideal relationship looks like two people gently orbiting each other like obedient planets. Worshipful, yes, but in a healthy sense: mutual awe, mutual care, mutual “oh my god, how did I get so lucky to know you?”
Now - femininity and masculinity. Confusing territory…
I have dated femmes. I have been fascinated by masculinity in women. I have also briefly been emotionally derailed by a woman who looked like she could break hearts and fix engines simultaneously. And myself? I am somewhere in the in-between. Currently experimenting with femininity like it is a new language I am still mispronouncing sometimes. You mentioned Billie Eilish style, I think i’m somewhat familiar with that. Maybe this is about me.
But what truly captivates me is not the category it is the charisma, that unnameable pull. The way some women enter a room and suddenly physics feels optional. Masculine women especially… I am, unfortunately, not immune. It is absurd. It is unfair. I would like a refund.
And feminine women? Equally devastating. The way they exist so effortlessly, like poetry pretending to be human.
At this point, I am simply vulnerable to all women. No exceptions I’m so so weak..
What matters to me most is gentleness within strength, someone who is tender even when in control, who knows how to hold space without overwhelming it. Good communication is essential. And honestly… I need to say it clearly - please, no avoidant behavior. I really struggle with emotional distance. I tend to feel anxious when someone pulls away or avoids talking things through, because I prefer honesty, clarity, and going over things as many times as needed until we understand each other.
For me, emotional intelligence and communication are everything in a connection.
I love women with a good sense of humour - someone who can tease me playfully, even mock me a little in a loving way. I adore that kind of contrast: when she seems cool, composed, and self-assured, but around me has this unexpected softness that feels like it belongs only to me… (okay, am I delusional? maybe a little).
Oh, can I add something about pet names? 🥺
Oh my god, please - I really, really love being called cute names. I’m so easy for that kind of affection…
Also - tattoos, piercings, long hair, curly hair… I am, regrettably, very weak to all of it. Hands in particular are a problem. I can and will stare respectfully and then stop being respectful.
Possessiveness? Potentially appealing - if it is the kind that says “you are mine” in a way that still respects the fact that I am, unfortunately, a person with a heartbeat and opinions.
And please - creativity, art, silly ideas.
Let’s worship Cate Blanchett and Gillian Anderson together🤝
And Nana… what about Dakota Johnson? She is so much my type. Have you seen the way she carries herself? The effortless confidence, that quiet charm… it’s honestly devastating.
In conclusion: I do not have a “type.” And it’s hard for me to say that I can strictly define myself as only wanting to date masc or fem women. I have a phenomenon and it is called: women.
Sincerely (and slightly unwell),
Lia
Happy Pride, darling! 🏳️🌈
