Even the so-called "ONE" or "oneness" is a subtle conceptual illusion
Reader:
There is a specific koan story where Rikku is rebuked because of his clinging to oneness. Rikku recounted, "all things and I are of one substance." He was reprimanded by Nansen, "People of this time who see this flower are like men in a dream." now, I know you use dreams. Which is good-only when it is not applied to your own attached view of the oneness of all things so, how are you any different from Rikku who was not free from points of view? a genuine answer would be appreciated, because you seem exactly like Rikku.
BeingIs:
I was not talking about oneness. And I never meant to emphasize the so-called "ONE" or "oneness". Is it one of what? If I am concerning about one, I already subtly established the conceptual validity of two, three, four, ⌠No, the idea of oneness is as illusory as assuming there are more than one. Donât misunderstand my pointing. I am pointing to SELF that is beyond the concept of ONE versus multiplicity. This is not a oneness; This is not a multiplicity either. Fixation on either stand is an illusion concocted by the Mind.
Mind is an automatic analysis mechanism; it functions as a number counter. It counts the reality as things. When the Mind believes that it has become enlightened and it reduced the count to âoneâ and refute multiplicity. Unfortunately, sticking to the concept of oneness is as illusory as counting more than one. Thereâs no such thing as one; there is no such thing as more than one either. Math seems to be a useful tool in a story, aka, a dream. But the story is empty, and the math is as empty as the story itself.
Let me take this opportunity to point as thoroughly as I possibly do, SELF is not a one, SELF is not non-one either. Therefore, the popular concept of "non-duality" is an illusory concept that you should not stick to.
Let me show you an example, look at your own experience, all that you can see is infinite variations, patterns, and objects. There are infinitely nuanced variations and degradation that you can't even attempt to count. So, the very experiential pattern seems infinitely multiple, not a ONE at all. But are there actually infinitely many variations of substances? You can't make that conclusion either because every form of variations never stay stable. They come from nowhere, and going into nowhere, they are completely transient. It's just like a giant holographic display; you can grab one image and attempt to hold on to it wishing that it won't go away. If you think a big mountain is a concrete object, please look deeper, use a powerful magnifier if you want, as you go deeper and deeper, soon, the so-called "mountain" is no more a mountain, the mountain seems to disperse into atoms and electrons, as you go even deeper, even the appearance of atoms and electrons starts to disperse, eventually, you cannot pin it down to anything because you will find nothing to grab on to. It seems to disperse infinitely. In other words, the concept of "mountain" is an illusory concept projected by the Mind only, it may look like a "mountain", it may touch like a "mountain", but it cannot actually be defined as a mountain. Likewise, all concepts are like that, they can't survive thorough inspection. All concepts fall apart as you scrutinize them. If you think this is a ONE, but such concept cannot survive deeper scrutinizing. You can never be able to pin down such a "ONE". Just like you can never get to the bottom of "I", you can never get to the bottom of "ONE".
Now that you know that this is not a "ONE". But is this a multiplicity? Yes, there seems to be infinite number of objects floating around in your experience, but you cannot pin down any one object as a concrete object. When you choose one object to scrutinize, for instance, a piece of stone on the side of the walkway, just like you cannot actually pin down the "mountain" as an actual mountain, you cannot actually get to the bottom and make a conclusion that this is indeed a stone.
Now, you are facing a seeming quandary, is it a ONE or are there actually infinite multiplicities? Neither!! The question is born out of an analyzing Mind, since the Mind is an empty energetic effect of SELF, any question born out of the Mind is based on illusory assumptions. Such question can never have an answer because the question itself is already based on illusory concepts.
Sooner or later, you will be sensitive enough to discover that all questions raised are from the Mind with some sort of subtle logical assumptions that doesn't actually stand. No exception about that. For example, the logical assumption of "ONE" or "oneness", as well as the logical assumption of "non-duality" and "duality". None of these assumptions hold valid. Then, you will be free from the grip of the Mind.
Let me recap, not trying to confuse you, but you may have a taste of your SELF's strangeness. This is not a one. This is not many either. This is not a non-one. This is not non-dual either. This is not half one and half many. This is a mystery that is infinitely beyond any attempt to categorize itself. This is even infinitely beyond establishing that the prior sentence can be established as valid either. So, can you see now? How infinitely strange this is?
I am not done yet. This is not a presence. This is not a non-presence. This is not a living. This is not non-living. This is not here. This is not not-here. This is not a "I". This is not a no "I". This is not a mountain. This is not a non-mountain either. See? We can't resort to any conceptual standpoint and declare a final conclusion. Any attempt to settle on a seemingly comfortable viewpoint is a subtle and illusory trap of the Mind.

The more I think about all this the more meaningless it feels to me, like, what even is the point of anything at all? No purpose? No meaning? It's making me feel nihilistic like.....what even is anything
The realisation that's talked about on here is completely experiential, you cannot think your way to it. It HAS to be experienced. Thinking about it, making conclusions, getting tired, waiting for something to change, it is all very futile.
No purpose and no meaning simply means that it can have any point/any meaning you want it to have. Everything is FREE to be, free of any inherent meaning or purpose, so it can have any meaning. Think of it as a blank slate, you can use any colors to paint it and immediately experience it. It is very simple, you make it difficult for yourself.
You are the SOURCE, you are the KNOWING of every sensation/thought/feeling/meaning. Of course, everything that arises is spontaneous but YOU are what it arises from.
See it for yourself. Notice. Just be aware. Go back to zero, don't pile on more concepts.
Reader: Perhaps most people just want the freedom in illusions; in fact, the freedom and lack of freedom in illusions are both empty, neither increasing nor decreasing â a joke of sorts. Perhaps this bizarre miracle, or the freedom in illusions, can only happen to that one who truly doesn't care and doesn't take it seriously.
BEINGIS: You yourself (SELF) are unconditional absolute freedom â that is to say, the unconditional absolute freedom without the concept of "freedom" standing in opposition to "unfreedom." You yourself don't need to strive; in an instant, you seem to manifest the entire universe. This is absolute freedom. When you suddenly see a faint glimmer of light upon awakening from sleep, in that very instant, the entire spacetime and universe appear â not that anything called "spacetime" or "universe" is actually created in reality. You yourself (SELF) are you yourself (SELF) always, neither increasing nor decreasing, absolutely unchanging, with no such thing as creation â merely your own energetic effect freely seeming to manifest scenes. This so-called manifestation is merely apparent, not actual; the scenes that seem to manifest appear as things, but they are not actually things â they are your own energetic effect, akin to dreaming. This is your own unconditional absolute freedom, just as you yourself can dream unconditionally and absolutely freely. But you mistakenly believe that some form in the scene, say, the body, lacks freedom, feels pressure, can't fly, has no choices, no hope â you mistake this for "unfreedom." In truth, this isn't unfreedom; it's that you've taken the storyline in the scene as real, mistaking empty energetic forms for a solid material world and life. You want some form in the scene, for instance, the body, to "gain freedom, gain hope, have a happy ending..." â what an absurd joke, like hoping the "I" from last night's dream could gain freedom and have a happy ending. Where can you find that "I" now? The entire dream is an empty joke; how could the "I" within it have freedom, or any so-called ending? No need to even speak of good endings or bad ones. It's like a king who, after drinking a potion of forgetfulness, mistakes himself for a street beggar â a utter joke.
You don't need to make the "I" in the scene gain freedom, because the entire story is something you yourself (SELF) seem to manifest through unconditional absolute freedom. It seems like such a story is unfolding, but even seeming to experience such a storyline is already unconditional absolute freedom â what greater freedom could there be? At some moment, just as you fall into sleep â snap! â the entire seemingly real "spacetime, universe, life" vanishes without a trace, as if it never happened at all. This is your own absolute freedom: absolute freedom seeming to manifest scenes, absolute freedom seeming to switch scenes, absolute freedom seeming to erase scenes. These seeming manifestations, switches, and erasures are all operations of completely empty absolute freedom â seeming to occur, yet nothing actually happens.

Posts related to Nd but definitely not dismissing desires đĽş
There is nothing much to post about it, but I'll just say this;
Every experience is immediate. Right now is the only moment that ever was, ever will be. Manifestation is a non event because nothing was ever lacking, both are just ideas arising in the present. The deeper you investigate, the more you'll notice that you cannot tell what it is that you call "wanting", you cannot tell what it is that you call "fulfilment", you think you do but it's just that, a THOUGHT. An idea. And when you say that you "don't have" what you want, that's also just a thought that you're experiencing immediately. It's very difficult to talk about something that's completely experiential, but I hope I'm getting my point across. This is freedom already, you can experience all that you want right HERE. NOW. You decide whether it is what you call wanting, waiting, or something else :)) it's so simple, it's ridiculous really. Don't make it too hard, you are the source, infinitely experiencing itself, remember who you are <33
All is just effortlessly unfolding, label-less experiencing. You label it as something you don't want, you declare your imagination as something you DO WANT, immediately experiencing "lack" (an idea). There is no difference between imagination, dreaming, daydreaming, reality, Every experience is immediate and it's YOU who decide what to make of it, you decide what you experience :))
Here's a concise and much better said piece by NIF:
I feel like Iâll never have the realization you and many others have and Iâm just stuck waiting for my desires to come true and Iâm not even sure if they will ever happen because apparently they arenât real
I donât know Iâm just struggling and stuck in a rut of watching and over consuming content about non duality Iâm also on the shifting side and manifestation side of tumblr and they give me hope but then Iâm reminded that itâs not real and just delusion so Iâm back to feeling terrible
diva please tell me what I can do to make these feelings go I just want peace
thank you for replying
First of all, please breathe and accept that you donât know anything about how ârealizationâ is supposed to look, the more you keep conceptualizing an experience the more youâll be stuck trying to attain it perfectly by rejecting everything you think it is not
I understand trying to read and watch more but understand that there is nothing out there that will suddenly make all of this âclickâ for you, that entirely depends on your willingness to remove your loyal attention on whats out there and place it on whats undeniably here. YourSelf
Notice Awareness, notice this unchanging knowing in the background of experience. THAT is the nature of True Being not the ideas of who you are and what you want, the fact that that you know of something that KNOWS of your circumstances means that what you really are is beyond those circumstances, identifications and scenarios
You must be able to return devotedly to Being the exact same way you return to suffering.
The suffering is nothing more than an appearing idea, you do not have to account for it or claim it as your own, perfection is the only thing that exists , joy and bliss become tainted when we start giving into the stories of lack and suffering when these things hold absolutely no truth
They hold absolutely no truth
Where is the lack and suffering outside the ideas of it?
Nowhere because lack and suffering are ONLY ideas and by default are not concrete
So make the decision now, this will not dawn on you when the time is right, no you must choose now to see Actuality
And for the love of God, get off that side of tumblr if itâs bothering youâ make the choice itâs either truth or illusion
All the things you say are rational. And you're good at talking about what you believe. Still, when appearances show up, 'you' just suck it up. Let's say something unexpected or terrible happens, like your pet dies or your loved ones are hurt. You just go like 'I'm not the one who's seeing their loved ones hurt,' which is of course true. There's no 'you' anywhere, so no one is really getting hurt, nothing is really happening here. Just like there's no reality to a dream character's pain, there's no reality to 'your' pain either. All of it is just an appearance, which doesn't have any reality to it. But you still have things happening to you, and you can't do anything about it, just observe and say 'not mine.'
How did you come across non-duality? Most of us came across it after knowing about subliminals, shifting, LOA's, and stuff. Didn't you dream of having a certain life? Didn't you dream of experiencing anything and everything you could think of? Did you get it? I don't mean to be harsh or rude or anything, I'm really just curious.
A lot of the reasons people have this idea that non- duality is bleak and not fun is because they choose to believe their own interpretations of the words used and internalize that as a true way in which we navigate the world
Because we take away the importance and therefore the reality we initially placed on the things of ârealityâ it is assumed we have a pacifist or nonchalant outlook on life and that is just not the case
I couldnt even begin to explain to you the utter bliss that comes with the KNOWING that reality itself is not real, I do not mean this half heartedly, I mean it in every sense of the word. There is no reality there are only convictions/ ideas that seek to qualify the infinite inconceivable nature of Self.
Why would I need to suck anything up if nothing genuinely exists? Do you suck up bad dreams when you realize youâre dreaming? Or is there a different approach to the unreal world of the dreams?
A situation being unfavorable is not grounded in any sort of reality and the only reason it seems to be that way is because that is what is Known, if the Knowing was different ,why would there be a need to endure a situation that is not concrete?
I find it strange that you (and many others) use words like appearances or unreal yet you still wholeheartedly treat reality like it is something undeniable
Anything can be so we must know which is fact and which is illusion â this is the essence of this understanding, and to answer your last paragraph, reread the first three words in this paragraph.
You guys would say that physical and imagination are just illusory, or collapse the duality when you imagine something, then you instantly experience. It is no more different than remembering that my phone is charging <- or me imagining that experience... That they are the same and illusory, but the thing is, this is a tangible experience and it does not make sense that I imagined it, there I experience it.
"both" âphysicalâ experiences and âimaginativeâ experiences are simply appearances within "Awareness". Both arise in the same way, within the same "Awareness". Whether "you" "remember" something, "imagine" something, or "experience" it âphysically,â it all shows up within "Awareness", and this is what gives them their apparent reality.
Think about it like this:
the seeming "act of remembering" your phone charging and the act of looking at your phone charging are both experienced through & within "Awareness". The content of these experiences may seem differentâone might feel more âtangibleâ and the other more âmentalââbut they are both appearing within the same "Awareness". The effect of the mind categorizes one as ârealâ and the other as âimagined,â yet theyâre ultimately the same in the sense that both are experiences happening within "Awareness" and as it.
Regarding tangibility: when we perceive something as âtangibleâ or âsolid,â that sensation itself is still a perception in "Awareness". The feeling of tangibility is just another experience arising within "Awareness"âyou think it feels real, yes, but ârealâ here simply means that itâs an experience happening in this moment. Whether itâs a thought, a memory, or the feeling of holding your phone, all of these are just different effects or expressions of the same "Awareness".
The confusion often comes when we try to understand this with the effect of mind alone, which insists on splitting experiences into ârealâ and âimagined.â However, when weâre talking about "Awareness", itâs not so much about erasing those differences on a practical level but about seeing that all experiencesâwhether physical or imaginedâare equally just "experiences".
So, in the non-dual perspective, both the "memory" of your phone charging and holding it are simply appearances within "Awareness". They seem different because they have different qualities, but theyâre fundamentally made of the same "Awareness". Recognizing this doesnât deny the feeling of tangibility; it simply points out that tangibility itself is another experience arising within "Awareness".
In other words, "Awareness" doesnât distinguish between ârealâ or âimagined.â Itâs thoughts that categorize, while "Awareness" remains that, in which all of itââtangibleâ or âillusoryââarises and dissolves.
Firstly, behind questions like these often lies a desire to experience something in the physical (that is, 'in reality'), which has only been imagined or wished for until now. So, the first separation into this vs. that is already happening here.
Secondly, your explanation, @ko-existing, is merely being used as a means to an end to 'feel' this experience 'in real life' rather than to understand the larger context behind it.
Itâs a pity how much effort goes into such answers when the recipient simply isn't ready to hear the message.
With all due respect, Anonymus just wants to hear: "Yes, you have already experienced what you want, even if it doesn't feel 'real' but like an imagination right now."
The saddest part about this is that I can completely relate. That was me about a year ago. When Koda came to Tumblr, I didnât want to hear the BIG message; I was so "desire-driven" so much so that I could see nothing but the path to my desires. That also means I know it can be different, and that everyone eventually reaches this point. Itâs funny because youâve never really moved the whole time⌠well, going in circles instead!
it really comes down to this...
"Now I know the focus is not on what 'I' can experience or want to experience, but on understanding that any experience of it is '...' It seems to be happening, but fundamentally they are '...' " @ko-existing
đđťđŚ
Very well said! You're 100% right, like you said, many don't want to hear the "big" message that's why there's a lot of this vs that , desire here vs. desire there things going on.
That's also why some think they prefer accounts that specifically talk about desireâ it's validating. They have desires in mind, they hear someone talk about actual desires under the " " topic, they listen up.
That's a big reason why BeingIs calls for 'mature' listeners in his bio that are ready to listen and he doesn't speak about their existence because they literally have no substance
Ă If I observe my everyday life I will keep seeing more and more of it, but if I want to change my everyday life, I must do nothing too and I just observe because I am already all there is, right? this makes me confused
@infiniteko answered it here.
What I meant with my 'Yes' there was Anything you're aware of Is. You as awareness will experience that, because THAT is the experience.
And since you put Creating in quotation mark I assumed you used it because of lack of better words if that makes sense? But no, you're overcomplicating what empty words might mean.
There is nothing to do, and nothing to *just observe*. Awareness is not a method. You can't help but be aware of it all, You are Awareness itself. What is so confusing about it? Everything you become aware of, Is. Instant. Don't overthink.
You haven't been aware of your seemingly current life for LONG time, time is a concept. Which means nothing at all. You experience NOW to NOW. Moment to Moment.
You're speaking as if you KNOW for sure that you'll have to observe your current experience, who decides that? Observing is not a method! It's your nature, being aware of something is how you experience. That's the only way you experience, as awareness. And what you experience the very next second, is because you KNOW you will. You are aware, with no doubts.
But I'll ask you, who decides all that? Who decides what you're gonna experience very next moment? Is it not you?
hello, i have a question! đ
if the brain doesnt matter and its part of the illusion, then who does the knowing? isnt it the brain? i dont think itd awareness cos awarwness doesnt have desires and already knows. if we want smth to materialise then u say we have to know but if the brain and everyrhing is part of the illudion then why does the brain matter and why does knowing matter? thats also an illudion
No one does the Knowing. Knowing is just Knowingâ itâs the ultimate. The Knower is the Knowing and cannot be separated.
Please note that Awareness, Knowing, Self, THAT, Brahman, infinite radiance, Being are all pointing to the same thing. This indescribable âsomethingâ that is the very foundation, source and core of all that seems real
Most especially Knowing and Awareness, nothing can be if thereâs no Knowing / Awareness of it. Even those names (Awareness etc) cannot exist if it was unknown
That is why we go further to call it THAT or Self because these words are attempts at defining without confining.
So there is only Knowing,Awareness because everything is a possible existence due to the presence of it in the field of Knowing or Awareness

ohhhh i get it now. the illusion isn't aware, obviously, therefore of course it thinks it doesn't see the desire. when i am aware of what i want to experience, whether i be aware of it by "imagining" it/think it/visualize/whatever, the "thing" who can see that image and the thing that is even aware of that idea or scenario is ME, THAT. that's why illusion keeps thinking otherwise, because it's not aware of what i'm seeing, it can't see it.
i've found the mistake i made. i had believed that those thoughts were what i was thinking. i also had some kind of baseless belief that when i "imagine" (become aware of something) that was part of the body-mind, like the body-mind was the one imagining because if it has thoughts, then the imagination is just another type of thought from the illusion. but now i remember that the imagination isn't even real. so every time i "imagined" (experienced whatever) and then observed thoughts saying "um where's the experience?" the illusory was seeking experience because it didn't see what i was aware of, it doesn't imagine. I GET IT NOWWW! this whole time, i was on the right track. i just had the wrong assumption that the illusory could also see what i choose to be aware of because i for some reason thought the illusory had an imagination too. (which now that i really think about it, that doesn't even make sense) thats why i kept assuming those "i don't see it" thoughts were relevant.
that also explains how "instantly" really IS instant. illusion thinks its not instant because it can't see and thinks it needs the senses, but as THAT, only I become aware and experience. no senses needed, only awareness, only me.
in conclusion: what i've learned over the past few minutes is that when i become aware of something, the illusion doesn't see that so of course it's gonna ask where it is, and all i do is observe those thoughts and let it pass. my true self is never NOT seeing what i want, because even me saying "i want _____" gives me the image of said thing, therefore awareness is on it. if a thought says it's not experiencing, or its waiting or it can't do anything or nothing works, then i know thats all illusion.
i think i may be done asking questions forever. theres nothing more for me to understand at this pointđâ¤ď¸â¤ď¸â¤ď¸â¤ď¸

one of the epiphanies iâve had is that when i catch myself saying âi intellectually understand butâŚâ that right there is misidentification, trying to understand âŚâŚâŚ is just crazy. because when you watch yourself youâll find yourself saying âi tryâŚâ âi be aware but thenâŚ.â you find yourself trying to understand â â through this seeming human. whenever you feel like youâre complicating it, step back. back it up, fall into the silence. everything is effortless like the way youâre aware of reading this right now, the way iâm writing it, do you even think much? no you just do, effortlessly. just be, donât try. donât ever go tell someone youâre âtryingâ to understand. for me, i watch my thoughts like i watch tiktok, scroll, scroll, but the âhmm where?âŚâ âwhy ?âŚâ âcanât seeâŚ.â i donât overreact nor panic, itâs just part of the algorithm, i simply watch or scroll away.
donât just read, itâll never help, ponder, take away what you resonate, leave the rest.
itâs just cute a little dream, with seeming circumstances, seeming beautiful things, just look at how beautiful you orchestrated everything. itâs okay, itâs always is, just be, dive into the silence, itâll hold you.
Isn't it soo fascinating knowing that Everything you see around you ...is just the creation of THAT (you). Even the thoughts
"i intellectually understand but..."
Who's thinking this? Who's trying to understand? This ego!
This ego is the creation of THAT too. Ego is an Illusion too. Soo why try to make something unreal understand THAT.
In the end all this knowledge we are gathering... Everything that ego knows.... it's all useless.
You'll only KNOW THAT by experiencing THAT.
Sooner or later you'll have to drop all the labels, all the knowledge.
The constant focus on "self" is nothing but a delusion.
Notice how it becomes more frustrating to satisfy "your" desires the more you seek to satisfy them?
Notice how even when you "get" what you want, the satisfaction never lasts? It simply just moves onto the next desire.
Satisfaction feels momentary because it literally is.
It is bound to the thought of itself. (Read that again)
Satisfaction never truly finds reality.
It only ever finds the reality it thinks is there. Or isn't.
Yet we search and suffer and rush endlessly in the pursuit of it.
We are literally chasing an idea.
Satisfaction means nothing to reality.
Reality does not seek to satisfy your needs.
It seeks to satisfy nothing because it already is everything.
It does not even include "you."
With or without the idea of "you" it remains the same.
"What is" not "what was" or "what will be" or "what could be" - just simply, "what is."
Because it couldn't be anything else.
The "self" is a constant loop of "I'll be happy when..."
"When I finish school."
"When I get rich."
"When I find a partner."
"When I get healthy."
"When I buy new clothes."
"When I am on holidays."
"When I retire."
"When I have a family of my own."
"When I finally move out."
"When my kids are older."
But it just moves from one thought to the next, endlessly.
It's always the next thing. always circumstantial...
Satisfaction is never just "what is."
Because "what is" does not require a story nor a reason.
It just is.
Our suffering comes from the idea that "what is" isn't what it should be, according to our ideas of it.
âNothing In Form on ig
The point of noticing your own true nature is to realize youâve always been free to do whatever you want, however you want with any seeming experience you want AS THE AUTHORITY OF YOUR OWN PLAY.
âSo I can feel-?â Yes.
âSo I can do-?â Yes.
âSo I can make-?â Yes.
âSo I can have-?â Yes.
âBut I can-?â YEEES. THE ANSWER WILL ALWAYS BE YEEES. Wanna be Spider-man? An artist? A doctor? Have natural neon rainbow hair? Grow wings? Be a hairless cat? A mermaid for a week? A princess for another? Then decide so, youâre free!
Tell me, if you know you can breathe, would you be asking questions about âdoing soâ? Or just decide it because you know you can? Itâs the same here! If you knew your own omnipotence, omnipresence and omniscience, would you be asking âHow toâs and âCan Iâs? Exactly.
It still is all " "; all YOU.
