Aha… Children were so troublesome. Stubborn, yet you could never leave them alone. If something happened to her, he would feel responsible for it, after all. Conan had no choice but to look after her for now.

"Then where do you want to go…?" He was a ‘child’ too, so maybe he should try and act more interested. "Is it somewhere fun?"

Chirii's arms fell to her sides. Not again. Someone trying to take her home.

"I don't wanna go back home yet. I only just left."

Damn right he knew a lot.

"Hm?" His head turned to where the little girl pointed. A building? It looked relatively old and if Conan recalled correctly, if had been there even before he first came to the city. There must be a reason why she thought it wasn’t.

"No… it’s been there a while." A pause as he thought about it. "Are you perhaps lost?"

Oops! She said that before she could think about it! She turned around and folded her arms so the boy couldn't see her go red.

"I'm noooooot," she pouted.

Well then. Conan might be used to children ‘his age’ and always get dragged around, but sometimes he wasn’t sure how to deal with them despite all his experience so far. And well, he could recognize a child when they probably needed help, but how he was supposed to reach out to them seemed almost foreign to him. Like really! How would you respond as a little girl if some strange 17-year-old guy suddenly just starts talking to—

Oh. Right. Haha. He was sort of ‘six’ now. Crisis evaded.

"Hey.. are you alright?" He asked carefully, coming closer the other and eyeing her properly. She seemed somewhat taller and ‘older’ than Conan. Perhaps she was just lost.

"Do you maybe need help?"

Oh! A boy she didn't recognize... Those glasses he's wearing, they make his eyes look so big. He looked like one of those super-smart people! He must know a lot.

"U-um... Is that new...?" She pointed to the building. "I don't remember it being there."

After being lost for a whole day, only to meander her way back to the orphanage late in the night, it was easy to figure out why the caretakers weren't letting Chirii wander about anymore. Their grip on her tightened, and she could barely even leave the playroom without someone being told to follow her.

Which is why, when all the caretakers were holding an important meeting, Chirii took her chance.

She didn't care where she went; she let her legs move her along. It's been so long, and she's finally free~...

Oh, uh...

Was this... always where this alley went...? There was supposed to be an open area here... now there was a building...?

Oh no! Did she take a wrong turn?! Maybe it was one of the lefts...

"Ah... um... uh..." Clasping her hands together, she tottered back and forth, completely unsure of where she was...

It’d reached the point where sitting around at home was no longer an option; not that it really ever was an option for one Mr Mochizuki. However, it was also starting to near the point where it was almost too hot to just wander the city, even though was was certainly his prefered means of spending time. Speaking of, it seemed as though the last corner he rounded lead him straight to… a small person..?

She doesn't come to the residential area of the city often. Too many people. But her wanderings, through a side street she'd never noticed before, brought her here, and so she decided to see where her feet would lead her.
