Light me up tonight
With the fire in your eyes
Feed it with your breath
Let the light dance over my thighs
Melt me baby
Down to my core
Burn it all up
Until there’s no more
Be my flame
My muse
Turn it all on
Light the fuse
Consume me

Spiraling forwards
We’ve both been tossed by life
Towards that terrifying void
We can’t help but deny
But baby tonight
We hit the wall together
Reaching the purest form of ecstasy
And we hadn’t done that before
At least
Not in this lifetime
Last night
It was a dream.
We ran across the road,
The black asphalt lit with a green halo
That matched the trees that enveloped us
On the other side.
The creaking of the bamboo shielded our giggles
As we traded kisses like currency of the heart.
Here it was dark,
And our hands had to find what our eyes could not.
Below us,
The green lingered in paint,
Like a memory.
A memory that existed before we did,
But a memory we somehow recall together.
Perhaps we’re older than we expect.
I search for the answer in your eyes.
You search mine as well.
But the eyes are not enough,
So we explore other ways of communicating.
I ask a question on your lips,
And you answer me right back.
I search for it on your skin,
And you match my query.
It’s a beautiful dance of two souls,
Just searching.
But the question becomes unimportant.
Or perhaps-
The technical answer.
Because as our minds align with our bodies,
I realize,
You are the answer.
So when you ask me-
“Is this okay?”
“Are you sure?”
What could I say but
“Yes.”
You are the answer to my question.
Do I even remember the question?
Not anymore.
Anytime I try to ponder,
Your smile occupies my mind.
And so we became a single soul,
If even for a moment.
But it was long enough that I consider you not only mine,
But me.
For apart,
We are broken.
But when we come together,
Everything is whole.
Rollercoaster
Drive me up up up
To the tip
Let me rest
Just a moment before we fall
And we yell
The wind in our hair
Our vision lost
Take me down down down
To the deep
Don’t let me drown
But we will fight for every breath
As rain drips off your chest
Onto me
The only water in my life
Used to be tears
But the drops tonight
Melted my fear
It may have been sweat
But if was yours,
No regrets
You drenched me in love
And it saved me from drowning
In my blood
Choke
In a garden gazebo
Lit by the moon
Hair down our backs
Clothes recklessly strewn
Endorphins racing
Through our pumping veins
As you teach this young girl
A lot of new things
She feels like she does wrong
But your touch does her right
Her bare chest against yours
Eyes rolled back in delight
You tell her you love her
Your hand creeps up her neck
You make love to her breasts
As you choke her to death
Such poetic satisfaction
Fulfilled under the stars
Two heart bleeding lovers
Worth all the scars
God may hold the world in his hands,
but my fingers are slipping through your hair
and my lips whisper prayers
between yours
as we sing hymns
in our breaths
my heart beats faster
to the tune of it
and the heavens illumiate
the flash of your eye
in the dark
for even as I began to faint
your arm tightened around me
and even as I only hold your face in my hand
I know how God feels
when he holds the world
Church
I believe in God
Because I hear him in your sighs
And feel him in your skin
And the other night
A gazebo became our church
Your lips were the doors
And your hands sang hymns over me
While we both worshipped
And oh
What a service it was
