We have some exciting product news to share. After we released Swell to the public in June 2013, we have been overwhelmed by thoughtful and detailed feedback generated by users like you. And, we listened. In our latest product update, we built in many features and functionalities that were direct responses to your feedback, and we're excited to share them with you today.

Search functionality. This is a big product addition, and we are excited about it. Now you can tap on the search icon on the top right corner of the app and search for any program in our database. Search results will include the source and host name, and may also include the episode title at the time of release. If and when you make a selection through search, Swell will then use that signal to transition into your personalized radio stream; or, you could continue searching for content, your choice.
Tap the "Like" button on the top right of each card so that you can tell us and the Swell community that you enjoyed the content, even if you elected to skip through.
For power users, advanced control features will really fun. See the screenshot below. When you swipe down the card inside Swell, the system will expose new advanced controls. Specifically, we've added a Sleep Timer so that you can set Swell to turn off automatically if you're listening at night without letting your batteries drain. We included speed controls to let you listen to content at 1.5x speed, 2x speed, and even 0.5x speed, for those fast-talking radio hosts.
Weâve also added the ability to set your Swell experience to deliver hourly news to you. In Settings, you can select âNews Updateâ and then select the content provider youâd prefer.
The cards themselves are now more interactive. This is one of our favorite improvements! When you tap anywhere on the card, the card will flip over to reveal more information about the program. Try it out!
Finally, we moved the "Share" button to the bottom right of the card and, if and when you share to Twitter, we've pre-loaded the Twitter handle of the many of the most popular sources of the content to be mentioned on Twitter. For example, if you elect to share a program youâre listening to (say, NPR), the Twitter share card that loads will include a pre-filled message that tags â@NPRâ in your tweet. This language can be edited by you, of course, so you retain full control.
