Interested in this but also not fully formed bc I’m at work rn…

think I’m interested in the idea that the rock represents the two very related things weighing her down, Joe (a relationship that ended in part bc of her fame) and her fame itself (which also killed her already dead rebound relationship) - it’s def not that deep BUT

it might be said that yes friendship bracelets represent her fans but they also represent the Eras Tour as a Thing, the absolute peak of her fame, when so many eyes are on her and she feels like her very success is making her unlovable… turning her into a statue (see: the prophecy) standing still on top of the mountain, rather than letting her be a human who can be loved and and find playfulness like anyone else - esp since some of the most compelling pro-Tayvis stuff is him just calling her girl and treating her like a boyfriend who has a girlfriend, not an untouchable monolith; and she def spent a lot of time alone on a couch with this elephant in the room that makes it hard for her to go out normally, let alone with another person who can handle the fame … food for thought
