“Kahahahahaha!! A-Awesome…! That ball bent right in front of me! Baseball is really awesome!!”
❝ Careful where you’re swinging that! ❞
Cora frowned, crossing her arms.
—《 » ♦。》— "I'm sorry... I'm just really excited."
“i see…” although some strict response was the supposed protocol for the unwilling stowaway, abel could hardly scold the boy for such a mistake. instead, he glanced about the floor to ensure they were alone. “i doubt the ship would turn back for one unwelcome passenger, but you’d better come with me anyway. perhaps we can send you back in a spare scouting ship…”
—《 » ♦。》— "... You're not going to throw me out in space are you?" There were tears forming in his eyes as his imagination ran wild. He was too young to suffocate and die out in outer space. Half expecting to be scolded and turned in, he was relieved when the other offered to help him. "... Thank you." Raichi was amazed at the ship's design. "Woah... This place is amazing..." He stared in awe as he followed the man to a safer area.
this boy is on fire } swingtovictory
Although it had been a while since he had last seen the other, the slugger never failed to both amaze and amuse him. Rather than just pouring the water on the section of his shirt that was lit, the boy had decided to pour it all over himself. Hilarious, really. The fact that the fire wasn’t even that serious in the first place just made it all the more funnier. It had just been a small fire, akin to the tiny flame at the end of a match. He could’ve easily putten it out without going through the trouble of drenching himself.
Throwing his head back, the catcher released a gust of laughter. Despite having a dominating presence on the diamond and all, this kid was almost about the same as Sawamura when he was off the field, loud and clueless, if not even worse. From drenching himself to put out a small fire to calling him Kazuhei Miyaki, this guy was just full of surprises.
❝ Yeah, that’s me alright. The one and only Kazuhei Miyaki. If my memory serves me right, you’re Todoroki Raichi from Yakushi. ❞
One last chuckle makes its way past his lips as he takes a few strides across the grass to get to the other player. While the batter is still clueless about the whole thing, he’ll have his fun and make this worthwhile.
❝ So, care to tell me what you’re doing out here so early? ❞
—《 » ♦。》— Vigorously shaking his head, Raichi removed the excessive amount of water in his hair and prevented the liquid from dripping down the tips of his hair. Even though the top half of him was completely drenched, he didn't appear to be too bothered by it and continued on as if nothing happened. Flipping the meat over with his spatula, he was relived to see his food was still in good condition. The laughter startled him, prompting a blush to appear on his cheeks. Was he laughing at him because he had nearly set himself on fire? "Yeah. That's me."
The domineering nature he showed on the field was nowhere to be found as he glanced at him in a meek manner. "My shitty dad was being a jerk so I ran off to eat this meat by myself." Tsk. The old man didn't deserve meat for his attitude earlier. "He was yelling about how he was going to eat it all by himself and I can't allow that to happen. I haven't had meat in months." All because of his no good father's debts.
There was no doubt that the boy lived in his own little world, that much he had come to learn by now. Disregarding the unfamiliar name, Kagami squinted the slightest at the way he described what he could only assume to be his train of thought during these so-called practices the smaller teen did on his own. If he had any suspicion of him being an oddball, it had just now been confirmed.
However, he decided to give the kid some credit, considering he had to at least have some basic knowledge about basketball if he had played it at school. Though the loud thud of the bat hitting the ground didn’t go unnoticed, red eyes were glued to the ball he had just given him. Alright, not bad; he could be pretending for all he cared, but at least he knew what he was doing. And then he threw, and Kagami was left speechless for a moment. His explosive power reminded him of Aomine somewhat. Except Aomine didn’t miss such shots. And he sure as hell didn’t get his face slammed in by a basketball often, if at all.
“WHAT THE—?!” To say he was both alarmed and impressed was an understatement considering his words came out roared and dripping confusion. The redhead barely had time to register what had just happened, but his gaze dropped to the figure lying on the ground almost instinctively. Please don’t be dead please don’t be dead please please please. “A-Are you okay?!” Hesitating for a second, he soon found himself kneeling beside the boy, a sense of unease showing all over his face.
—《 » ♦。》— This unfortunate situation was the result of his lack of skills in anything that had no relation to baseball. Throwing the orange ball like a pitcher caused it to bounce against the hoop and ricochet right back at him. The young batter's world spun for a few minutes as he laid motionless on the court's ground. The red spot on his forehead grew brighter, marking the area the ball smashed against. The voice snapped him out of his stupor and he blinked a few times to try and regain his vision. Tilting his head to glance at the concerned stranger, a wry grin appeared on his face as he laughed in a nervous manner. "Kahaha... hahahaha..."
Slowly sitting up, he glanced at the hoop and stared at it in amazement. "Woah. The hoop completely destroyed my fastball." Pressing his hand against his forehead, he slightly cringed when it throbbed against his fingetips. There was undoubtedly going to be a nasty bruise next morning and his dad was going to get up in his face for injuring himself. What a pain. "I'll be fine. I've had worse injuries than this." A grin blossomed on his face. Raising his hand, he gave him a thumbs up while winking.
She had become quite curious of the mortal’s game. It was different from what people used to play when they had still believed in the existence of gods like her. And so it came, that the young looking girl had found herself watching that human boy.
“I can try it? Really?” Her voice was gentle, obviously she was just as shy as the other. Pale hands, barely used to sunshine due to her nocturne behavior and life in the ever so dark underworld, took a hold of the bat. It wasn’t heavy for her but she knew she might should try to fake it. “It’s… it’s heavier than I thought! You swing it with such ease.” She complimented while trying a little swing with the bat. Maybe she should buy something like that for her sisters the Erinyes - they loved to try those things on the souls they… attended to. “Tha— thank you, Sir!”
—《 » ♦。》— The young batter aggressively nodded before moving the bat closer to her. "You can... It's heavier than it looks." As embarrassed as he was, he had to inform her about the weight of his bat since he didn't want her to accidentally hurt herself. A blush immediately blossomed on his cheeks when she complimented him. Watching her swing incorrectly was not enjoyable to watch, so he decided to help her out a little. Taking a step back, he pretended he was holding the bat himself and swung to demonstrate how to hold and swing. A shy smile appeared on his face when she thanked him. "It's... no problem at all."

—《 » ♦。》— There was a young girl he never failed to see whenever he went to practice his swings. The blond child sat in the same spot everyday with the same indescribable expression on her face. The desire to approach her was present; but he grew flustered every time he considered speaking up. Even though she was a child, she was still a stranger; and he never faired well with people he didn't know. As he was swinging his bat with considerable force, he was surprised when he spotted the little girl standing close, gazing at him with curious eyes. Wiping the sweat off his brow, he ripped a banana out of the bunch of bananas he had and handed one to her. "... Here..."
“….” a joke? hopefully. abel folded his arms and fixed the youth with a bemused expression, studying his features as if waiting for the punchline. “are you… serious?”
—《 » ♦。》— "..." Raichi wished he was kidding. "... It's what my classmates told me..." He nervously laughed, attempting to brush the situation off. "Kahahahaha..."
