Daddy's little girl.

This is an rp blog for the 10 year old Kay Faraday. She is set after her father's death. Recently, she found out her father was alive again. This is her story.

"O-oh! Hello, little one…"

She looked down at the young girl and tried to return the smile, though she wondered if perhaps she had seen her somewhere before. The girl had a familiar look.

And then she introduced herself.

"K-Kay Faraday, you say? How… Um. My name is Lauren. It’s nice to meet you.”

[The small shock didn't go unnoticed. Kay tilted her head in curiosity only to shift toward the particular ring pop on her hands.

It reminded her a bit of detective Atmey's ring he carried around. They did appear to be same size.]

Rhoda did have something of a soft spot for children, and so she couldn’t help but return that pleasant, bright smile.

"Why, hello there. It’s very nice to meet you too, Kay. What a polite, young lady. My name is Rhoda Teneiro, and I am a flight attendant."

[So it meant this lady was often flying to places, it did catch a glimpse of wonder in the young child's eyes. For this kind of job position in this building could meant one thing to her.]

Oh! Are you here for a case? You should visit daddy, he's a good prosecutor!

[Her father explained to her the prosecutors were selected for a case by the chief, although the client could always change their mind, right?]

[Pearl bit her nail, hoping silently that her new friend would help her find her way. She breathed a sigh of relief when she saw Kay smile.]

Thank you so much, Kay! I agree, getting the map is a good idea! [She paused] A c-car? Wow, you are so lucky! Mr. Nick doesn’t have a car, so we walk or he sometimes takes us to places on his bicycle!

[Pearl smiled at Kay in gratitude—she got the feeling that Kay was very determined to help others whenever she could, and would give it her best effort.

As they walked to find the security guard, Pearl racked her brain for an idea.]

Hey, we can just walk to the precinct! [It was nothing compared to the run from Kurain to the city, but if she could run that distance in 3 hours, then getting to the precinct would take no time at all!] How far would it be from here?

By car? Huuuuuuh...thirty minutes? ...Or maybe an hour...? 

[Unfortunately Kay happened to be far too distracted to pay attention at the time. She was always eager to talk to her father about school and catching up on their time together as much as possible due to his really busy job.]

I don't think it would be a good idea to run over there... We can always talk to the security guard, they could call someone for you.

[She knew the idea of walking to the precinct was out of the question. With her father well known in the prosecutor building, the people around here wouldn't let it happen. Especially if her father was likely to unleash his wrath at them for letting his precious daughter and another young child walk alone to such a far distance.]

He wasn’t really expecting a response like that from her. It stunned him for just a moment, before he responded like he normally would. Of course he wasn’t lonely! That was just ridiculous!

"Of course not! They don’t call me ‘Lone Wolf Luke’ for my dependence on others, you know."

Of course, no one besides himself called him Lone Wolf Luke, but she didn’t need to know that.

"It’s for the best, really. I work best alone, concealed in the shadow of darkness. It allows me to sneak up and surprise my foes! No one expects Luke Atmey!"

[Kay quietly listened to his prideful claims. The detective must really love his job, he might be an even greater workaholic than her father, and if people gave him nicknames he must surely have lots of friends right?]

I expected you this time though![She felt so proud of herself for finding a upper hand against an ace ace detective, even if it was obvious he must have walked to the young child out of curiosity for walking around the Prosecutor Building premises.]

[There was no chance this was able to pass through like thin air. He seemed like such a good person, why wouldn't a good person deserve to have enjoyable memories like she did? It was short, but those memories of the absence of a father filling the gap in her life made those dark days long and painful for her. The man didn't appear to be willing to talk about it and it was unclear of the family problem he faced, still, she couldn't pretend to not have heard this sensitive subject.]

N-no it's not okay!

[Her little hands quickly rummaged through her backpack, pulling out a pack of sweet and placing it onto the other's hand without hesitation.]

They might be just sweet but spending time sharing with someone important even if no one talks makes good memories, even for a short moment! He's still here right?

Eating more veggies is a good idea, but don’t, like, not eat swiss rolls! ‘specially if you and your dad eat them together. Do you and your dad get along?

Larry’s own father had been absent in his life from day one, so finding out if Kay and her dad had a good relationship immediately took the utmost importance to him.

[A brief nod proved Larry's guess to be right.] We even spend time together to eat ice cream once in a while when he's not busy working, he's always busy but tries really hard to find the time to spend together. I want to be a hero like him someday!

[A lone wolf fighting criminals alone had a nice ring to it, sounds like those stories and comic heroes she was familiar with. However watching her father and his partner work together, the little girl seemed to fancy her father's path. Having someone to go on adventures with sounded much more fun to her.]

[She had never really looked at it this way, the most thinking she had placed on her hair was wanting to style it somewhat like her father.]

Daddy tries to give me healthy food but...does sweets and Swiss rolls count??

[Kay's smile came to a halt to almost turning out shocked, having no idea if she could go on a extremely healthy diet like the one mentioned.]

[Miles considered the little girl for a moment, not sure as to what she knew and did not know about certain things, or even at what point in her life she was at. It was possible her father had not yet been murdered, at which point…

Hm. He would not bring it up.]

Ah. Yes. I had to get glasses about two years ago, while I was still working alongside Interpol.

[She’d met other versions of him? This…was strange. Perhaps she meant the younger version of him that she remembered.]

My father wore…wears. Glasses as well, so it is simply something that runs in the family.

You need to be careful with your health, that's what Uncle Badd always reminded my daddy when he was working on big cases. But he wasn't watching his health though, so we had to watch his too. Does Gummy wear glasses now?

[Kay looked so proud of herself receiving the responsibility of watching over them when they pushed themselves. Edgeworth must have been working on a really difficult case to have damaged his sight she thought. Interpol wasn't such a foreign word to her, her dad had tackled on cases with them involved in the past.]

Hum...was your father working in law too?

[So the scary man wasn't related? It was simple curiosity really, also Kay admired the man's hard work and determination which made her all the more curious about his motive to pursue this career.]
