The Malay Regiment, Malaya, 27 May 1941.

NCOs and men of the Malay Regiment in walking out dress. The sarong is green, the Muslim colour and also typical of the Malayan countryside, with red denoting the connection with the British Army, and yellow showing the connection with the royal households of the Federated Malay States. The cap badge is a crossed kris and sheath, surmounted by the oriental five-pointed crown, with the motto in Jawi script reading “Loyal and Faithful”.
