Using Resolume VJ software we created a music video mixed on the fly from our MAC workshop footage!
After some trials, we decided that handcutting the horn former would produce a quicker and larger former. Here’s some pics of Swoomptheeng’s PUNKAH going to work on it. Images are work in progress
Unity! We now have our instrument talking to the games engine via MIDI. Would an offshoot Xbox game be so much extra work? What you see here is an interactive game not an animation!
MIDI over Bluetooth
Yeah! Well we actually have MIDI over Bluetooth working now, which is great as we can make the bagpipe wireless and battery operated!
Cutting Foam at FabLab
So we went to the Fab Lab at Sandwell Collage (in the old The Public building) and met Anne Scrimshaw who showed us their 3D printers, 3D scanner and CNC computerised cutting machine. http://www.sandwell.ac.uk/news/fab-lab-launches/.
The main reason for this was to establish a procedure for cutting our foam to make a former for the fiber glass horn section, so we’ll be returning when it’s arrived and we have a 3D model to cut it to. We may also use the CNC machine to cut our mold for the rubber squeezy section.
