Their town was in ruin and within the mess, fear had begun to breed, arising new worries to be cast upon them all. A new species? Arthur hadnât heard of such a thing in centuries and yet here they stood, the Originals at a loss. How strange to be caught off guard when surprises had seemed like an impossible feat for so long. âIâll make you another.â Arthur offers as his eyes scanned over the painting, a beautiful one but there were plenty others that could replace it. âThatâs the lovely thing about art, itâs unlimited.â Moving to stand beside her, fingers traced over the paint strokes. âIt seems weâve been placed in the midst of a mess.â Idly he outlined the canvas before dropping his hand by his side. âHave you spoken to any of the others?â Theyâd all lived their lives out separately for so long, perhaps one of them had heard of such a species before even if another had not. âIâm not sure what to make of this Sybil, these creatures seem just as ancient as one of our own if not older.â It was a mess, a tragic ill written chaos.Â
Of all the possibilities for who was behind the storm, this was one Sybil certainly did not see coming. For certain, she thought it had been a coven of travelers who were going to work against her family for Loukiosâ actions. But to have a new species appear as the culprits behind it was a complete and utter shock. Sybil could not even remember the last time she had been truly surprised or shocked like this. When one lived for over a thousand years, there was very little that could surprise her or was completely unknown to her. Her siblings were the same way, they were used to being the strongest in the room and knowing more. âPlease do. I enjoyed that one immensely. It really spoke to our power and our beginning.â It spoke to a softer and more humane side of her, a side that few besides Arthur had seen. âYes, I do know your talent can easily replace anything I have lost.â Things and possessions were not as important to her, she gathered up a large amount of lavish things over the centuries. While she did love them all and desired more, she felt no loss with the damage. Setting aside the last of the paintings, she turned to face him. âOnly Catalina and she did not have any knowledge of the species either. She will reside with me now.â She handed him another painting of his one that was damaged before facing him and crossing her arms over her chest. âI am worried about this, Arthur. How is it possible for our whole family to have no knowledge of this species? How do we rule the Earth for over a thousand years and have never seen them before? I do not like this. I fear a bigger storm is coming.âÂ
