"Well, British Spider-woman." He corrected belatedly. Hamish reckoned this woman, Sybill, could probably solve just as many capers as Spiderman. Though Spiderman mostly fought crime. Sybill could probably fight crime.

He shook his head, still not feeling 100% himself about the whole thing. It was all so big and he was just so small. "No, no it's nothing you've done. This keeps happening to me, is well. Well, not the 'wake up in a spooky mansion' thing. That's still just happened right now. The other thing. Where it keeps all getting out of hand. But you're right! Maybe there are clues. Let's look for clues, like detectives."

"I do like spiders." She told him, trying to find her friendliness in this strange environment, "and rooftops. So, it would be fun." Still she imagined there wasn't time for it in realtiy, so she'd stick to her crystal gazing.

Sybill nodded, her smile empathetic. "I think that's happening to a lot of people these days." She reassured him, "though... Let's try not to be too ostentatious about it." Came soon after, a bit of a caution. "I think attracting attention is low on the list of things I want to be doing here, hm?"

"Ah," Hamish said with a nod that he didn't actually feel represented his level of understanding. "Like Spiderman. Like British Spiderman."

He looked away, unable to say anything serious with that gaze on him. He didn't like taking things too seriously. That was Percy's job. He was supposed to be dumb, and fun, and silly, and remind his sister to laugh once in a while. Not all this... this everything else that kept creeping into his life. "No. No, you're right. It's not a fun experience. Too many cloaks and too many literal daggers. It's all very... very real."

Sybill's brows furrowed. "I... Suppose." She said slowly, not offended by the comparrison just completely surprised by it. That was a new one.

In coming back to London, Sybill had needed to accept that she was coming back to something serious. The visions had never let up, as much as she'd been hoping the travel might make them fade, and she knew she was returning because she needed to try and help. Still she didn't feel prepared for war, so far be it for anyone else not to feel blindsided by this madness. "I'm sorry." She said, softer, "I don't mean to be harsh, I just- 'hah, well I'm hardly the only one this place has on edge. There has to be... Something, you know? A weak point to exploit, a clue left behind...."

“His name is Alastor Moody. Once you’ve met him he’s a hard person to forget.” And he was an excellent threatening name drop in interrogations. …Not that Leon had ever done that. More than twice. In one month. He looked around them, hating having to turn his head to see anything on the periphery. “I don’t like waking up and not knowing how I got somewhere. It must’ve been some dozy of a potion to knock everyone out, though I can’t imagine how they got us all at once. Maybe they had to bring us in here in shifts.”

"Oh." Sybill huffed a soft laugh, frustration and fondness in one sound as she rolled her eyes. "I do know him, and you're right." And actually, it was quite the complment to be compared to him, "I don't think he'd appreciate the comparison, though." She said, still a bit amused. "Hmm... I haven't made note of anyone coming by the apothecary for anything strange, but there are other ways to get your ingredients." Why wouldn't someone this dedicated source things themselves. "Maybe they're a large group."

winnie had become unsettled since witnessing her own death... again. her sharp eyes were wide and jumped about the environment with erratic anxiety. "I don't think it is intentional at all." there was a dark humor in the sentiment. "there is no great mastermind. no fucking 'they' to make such decisions." her attention turned to the silhouette of cassandra as well and studied the specter with rapt amusement. "this is all just your typical random chaos."

Sybill tipped her head side to side, not sure she agreed with the sentiment. Of course, she often suspected cruel intent, and perhaps she was just indludging her own bitterness. Still. "Mm, so we're all stuck in masks and seeing our ghosts because of random chaos..." She mused, too familiar with how easily the future can be influenced. "But here I am, surrounded by skeptics." Sybill watched Cassandra begging again, and promised she never would. "Some things never change."

"Are you also a twin, then?" Hamish asked. He didn't quite get Twin Energy off her the way he did with the two Flint siblings, but you never knew. People could always find a way to surprise you. He mouthed the phrase 'May Queen' before remembering that's what the last picnic had been for. The where that woman had gotten branded. "I, well---" He faltered, thinking about these things too long made him feel jumpy and nervous and all together too different. "Probably, but they're a lot less fun aren't they? And their font choices are horrible."

"Oh, no. I just meant... More generally. About lots of people, different things. I get senses." Sybill waved her hand in a vague, mystical motion, "usually anyway. This place is hardly willing to reveal secrets." She lebelled him with a stare that wasn't unkind, but waiting for him to realize. "Just because dressing up is fun, I don't think this is really intended to be a pleasant experience. Too much cloak and dagger for that."

"All of us though? Even the mean ones?" He'd certainly seen very of the scariest people from school completely off-kilter. Ajax was relatively certain he'd seen a few of them crying. No one was having fun with their ghosts, which did seem a shame. It was hardly the ghosts fault after all.

"Thanks, Sybs." he said earnestly. He really did miss Nessie. Getting to go sese Loch Ness for the first time had been one of the few highlights of the first few years he'd lived here. "She's a good critter, it's not her fault the authorities got all worked up."

Could they leave, if they all put their heads together? Would Ajax even want to? He wasn't entirely sure. "Suppose whether or not they care about the damage we create depends on how long they plan on keeping us all here. We probably shouldn't eat any of the food though. In case it's like Persephone."

Sybill shrugged, her mind whirring away through memories of visions, the ways the war could go. "Some people just want to watch the house burn down, they don't care who gets trapped inside."

Honestly she isn't sure when there will be a chance to get out to the loch, but Sybill really will tell Nessie hello from Ajax if she does make it, and she'll sit a while to see if she talks back.

For her part, Sybill would like to get the hell out of here, but Ajax was a big boy who could make his own coices, she was just glad to have someone to bounce ideas off. "Getting dressed up, the masks... I don't think this is meant to be long term. It's a party, right? You go to a grand event and it only lasts one night. I just wonder if we'll be leaving with more than the typical hangover."

the lines in moody's forehead became more exaggerated as he frowned. the concept that anything could be outside his scope did not sit well with him. "I can see more than you think. maybe I can help. what sort of puzzles pieces are you looking for exactly?"

"You already supposed I might've hit my head before giving consideration to what I said." She pointed out, not unkindly. "People. Or a person, maybe. I'm not sure where they fit into a picture I'n putting together, if you want it in simple enough terms."

"I'm not everyone's idea of helpful either." Edith admitted. It wasn't often someone called her ideas useful, but every now and then she had something to add. At the very least she was a body on the front lines and they needed those. "We're not really in a position to turn down help.

"Besides," Edith said as she ran her fingers through Sybill's hair gently, "No one's going to turn down someone who shows up with snacks. We're a very hungry lot."

"I find you very helpful." Sybill argued, her brows furrowing. Though she didn't go to the effort of opening her eyes, just pouted a bit. "I don't know if inviting me along will make you more popular, but you may seem more adept by comparrison, at least. I don't know if they're quite ready for my ideas yet."

The strop melted off her face quickly though, and she was smiling again. "That's good, at least. I can make scones. I've been growing lavender with some seeds I got in Spain..."

"That was as nice as I remembered." She said, just nearly avoiding giggling as though she was back at school. Edith couldn't lie and say she hadn't been thinking of kissing Sybill again since the aftermath of the Acid's latest explosion.

"Lunch," Edith repeated, beaming. She gave their hands a squeeze before turning down a side street and stopping. "Here it is. And it's on me today, yeah? Since I stole your lunch break."

Sybill felt her face heat up under the compliment and turned to look away a brief moment, shaking her head. "Good." She said simply, clearing her throat and swinging their joint hands. It was as nice as she remembered, too.

"If you insist." Well, Sybill wasn't the type to refuse hospitality, and she'd take Edith out herself some time. She pulled te door of the little cafe open, waving her inside before following, "do you have a favourite spot to sit?"

He shrugged. "Who knows. It seems to target everyone equal opportunity, I can't imagine who would want everyone all off kilter." Except for maybe the Muggles, but this had magic written all over it. Maybe they teamed up with someone. This wasn't really the brand of mystery he liked solving though.

"Would you really?" He asked, perking up. "I could probably get some Polyjuice and visit under a disguise, but that just feels so dishonest. I don't want to see her as someone else."

Ajax took a moment to redirect himself, wrapped in thoughts of Nessie. "Dunno, I haven't noticed too many patterns about who's grouping where. Suppose they want us all in the dining room eventually."

Sybill glanced at him, her brows furrowed, "can't you?" She questioned, a bit surprised. True, she couldn't point her finger at one lone culprit, but she could certainly put together a list. Hell, she had one tucked into her sofa cushions just incase.

"I'll tell her." She assured him, shaking her head, "don't go under a lie, that won't help your cause any." It was a habit Sybill was guilty of herself far too often, keeping things so carefully under wraps.

So coreographed in some ways, but not others. "They're confident that none of us would be able to figure out how to leave if we put our heads together." She summised, sighing. "They don't think we can do any damage together, they don't need to supervise or control us beyond.. What, timing and location?"

"It probably won't be too hard, I bet if I start doing something really stupid she'll show up to make fun of me for it." He said cheerfully. Percy had a knack for knowing when he was up to dumb shit. Probably twin senses. "Usually when people make a statement they just release it to the press." Hamish joked. "But I suppose this counts as one too."

"Yeah, I usually have a sense for certain things too... I don't think this place intends to be helpful in that regard, though." At least, any of the normal things Sybill felt pulling at her conscousness were dulled, distracted by this strange setting. She quirked a brow, humming, "do you not think that debacle with the May Queen might be more the sort of statements people pay attention to these days?"

"I am most comfortable standing in the rain." tig said with genuine sincerity. raindrops made things more clear to her. it drowned out the extraneous and helped her to see. "I do not mind a storm, but I thought it had been going for some time now. are we still before it?"

Sybill sighed and shook her head, but smiled. "Right. Well, this isn't that kind of storm. Funny, I think most people feel that way. But no, I fear the little bloodshed so far is just the rumbling of things to come. The dam hasn't quite broken yet, does that make sense?"

"extrapolate. use the information you have to form a working conclusion." sybill continued to say nonsense. he furrowed his eyebrows. "are you unwell? have you hit your head?"

Uh-huh. A world full of skeptics. Sybill smiled and waved away his concern, hardly surprised by it. "I'm fine, Moody." She assured him, "I think I don't have all the pieces of a puzzle yet, is all. It's outside your scope, don't worry."

“Maybe we’re outside the country. Though it looks really British outside.” Gloomy and grey. Though lots of places had gloomy and grey. “Tig is having trouble focusing too, so is Bea. So at least you’re not alone.”

He had the decency to go a little pink around the ears. “So, a few years back I started this petition? To relocate Nessie so she’d have more space and privacy. She’s a really shy creature, yknow? It’s not good for her to have all those people crowding around, no wonder it’s hard to get a glimpse of her these days. But uh, when I went to go petition at the Loch, the uh, the Loch kind of agreed? But it wanted to go with her. It gave everyone headaches agreeing too loudly. I was really worked up, because Nessie has rights too, which is part of why everyone got headaches. Anyways, some of the local wix put together I was part of the problem and politely banned me from returning. They wouldn’t even let me stay for the night so I could see Nessie. Which was a bummer.”

Sybill shakes her head, "I don't see why anyone would want us displaced that far out of our environment." London was at the heart of the whole fight. They had to still be there. "Aha, not reassuring, but certainly good to know."

She listened to him discuss Nessie, the loch, how his power rippled out, and wondered how she'd end up leaving a mark. Desperate Cassandra, lock shifting Ajax. "Poor Nessie... If I ever find myself over that way I'll make sure to stop by and tell her you miss her- at a time when the lock isn't too busy, of course." The world seems a little clearer in foggy Scotland, somehow. "Do you think it's seperating folk into particular groups, or are we really wandering freely?"

Sybill had not even seen many photos Cassandra was in, thanks to those that came after her trying to erase what they considered a black spot on their reputation. It was unfair, that this tableu of her desperation was the most she had ever seen of the late Trelawney Seer. She couldn't look away.

Couldn't help but wonder if this was where she was headed. Was seeking to join The Order really a good idea? Sybill startled when someone drew close, finally blinking her gaze away from the begging, but still able to hear it over the rest of the background noise. Would anyone else even know who she was? "Do you think they intend to grace everyone with their own personal hauntings, or did they pick and choose targets?"

"Darn." Edith said, completely unapologetic. She wanted to rest her head on Sybill's and just soak in the moment, but things had gotten Serious, conversation wise. This wasn't the best time for more cuddling.

"You probably have." She admitted. Some of the people she'd thought most likely to join weren't officially part of it, but she'd also been surprised by a few of the people who were. "Sometimes there are snacks. Depends on who's attending."

Sybill wouldn't have minded more cuddling, but she also knew this was new territory; relationships, risk, war on the horizon. Sybill was a lot better at letting people in but that still didn't mean it was easy, and her so named gift could make her a difficult person to be around at times.

"I'm sure, I just seem to recognize it in people." It was an obsession with solving, knowing. Sybill understood it. "If I was attending there would be snacks." She confirmed. "And possibly a big stack of journals, but that's a whole other thing. It might be an uphill battle, so you know. I'm not everyone's idea of helpful."
