Op Ed: Caras DeâAvalorn - Not the Haven for Us

An Open Letter to all Kaldorei:
Kaldorei sisters, brothers, neither or both. Shanâare.
Ten thousand years ago, we liberated ourselves from the burden of nobility. We unshackled ourselves from the unjust, disparate society that the Highborne created. Weâve learned this lesson before, but I will restate it for the younger generations:
Do not trade your freedom for complacency. Do not trade it for comfort. Do not trade it for food, for a home, for anything. Freedom is the greatest asset you can have in your possession, especially when you have nothing else.
Caras DeâAvalorn, at first glance, appears like salvation. How long have you slept on the streets of Stormwind, begging for scraps of food so that you will not starve to death? How long have you worn those ragged clothes, the very same that burned with Teldrassil? But you must not let your weariness blunt your sharp minds. See Caras DeâAvalorn for what it is: a bid for power by disenfranchised Thalassian nobility. We are to enter under their care, in a âkingdomâ that better qualifies as Stormwindâs backyard? Without any protection aside from what we can supply ourselves? Do you not see the writing on the wall, Kaldorei? These people seek to supplement their power with your own. They do not care for your suffering - they are exploiting it. In your moment of weakness, they seek to bring you to heel, shackle you with the same shackles we wore under Queen Azshara.
Caras DeâAvalorn is a ploy for political power by those that have lost it and crave its touch once again. Instead of learning to spread power amongst all, they intend to consolidate it within their Houses and their families, treating the rest of us like mere peasantry. If the Thalassians intend on returning to their roots, then they are fully within their rights to do so - without the Kaldorei. Without us. For if the Thalassians truly cared, they would donate their grand wealth to the Sisterhood, they would lift the refugees back onto their feet, instead of attempting to shepherd them into a kingdom within which they do not belong.
Kaldorei, we are stronger than that. Elune stood by us during the War of the Ancients. During the Sundering. The Third War. The Cataclysm. We have endured it all. Keep your faith, watch out for one another. Through community, we have achieved great things, and we will continue to achieve if we do not forget that. Look to your own, look to the Gilneans. Those that lost everything with Teldrassil. With them, you will rebuild. With them, we can return to Kalimdor, or establish something wholly our own - not in Elwynnâs forests, not on the streets of a city that cannot house us, cannot feed us, and whose citizenry has not been kind to us. Come together, Kaldorei.
