I think my biggest eternal gripe with the way the ok ko fandom has always gone about interpreting both pv and ko is this vehement refusal to engage with the show's themes and acknowledge the conclusion to ko's (and therefore pv's) character arc being that your "ugly"/negative emotions are not only a part of you they're intrinsical to who you are and trying to bottle them up or ignore them is only going to make them stronger and harder to control they're going to make you hurt the ppl around you, ko and tko becoming one is a good lesson to teach the child audience and just a good conclusion for a character arc in general but it's not very fandom-friendly it seems. There's a strong preference for keeping them as separate characters separate people even though it defeats the point the show's narrative is trying to get across.

With pv the treatment he gets is pretty different, it seems rather than shadowy being a fandom-favorite blorbo he's more of a scapegoat when it comes to absolving pv about things that are on him (such as everything to do with shadowy venomous). The thing about shadowy and tko is that they're allegorical characters, they're the personification of ko and pv's "worst" traits ko's being his boiling rage and pv's being his insecurity-fueled greed for power but these are (again) intrinsical parts of who they are as people which can become overwhelming and parasitic but they're not something to be removed from them. And I feel this is conceptually a lot more interesting than treating them like completely different characters.
