Tonight is the Night

Tonight is the night. The night of the winter solstice, the lengthening of the days starts on this night the darkest of the year. Bit by bit the days will grow longer from here and light will return to the world. Tonight is also, in my view the night to lay the foundations for the year to come. To be thankful for what was, but to let it go and prepare for a new beginning. I am in the midst of making plans to carry me peacefully and prosperously into the new year. I cannot let the hours and the days to get away from me. I cannot let myself be distracted. This is the year when I will make the biggest of leaps into a career that I need and want. Tonight is the night, it marks the beginning and the end. Let it be.
