it doesn’t take much to spot the childishness within her. the actions, the way she observed salem. was that a sparkle of excitement she had just seen?
‘ mhm, fear is mankind’s most raw and primal reaction. so they gather, fabricating this comfort & companionship. ’ it wouldn’t hurt to amuse him for a moment, would it? she’s always been fond of children, after all.
this one, however, seemed like a twisted one. an apple society would most certainly deem as rotten. however, society isn’t always right. society can be blind, more often then they would think. a rotten apple could just be someone who didn’t fit in. she would know, she’s seen society rise from the ashes.
this apple, salem thinks, is worth collecting.
‘ i’m salem. ’ without so much as a second thought, she extends a hand to him. ‘ and you are…? ’
Alarm ripples through Tomura’s body, sudden and violent. He stares at the hand presented, nails so primly curved and manicured and skin so soft and unmarked. The force of such a simple gesture rakes Tomura to a total halt. She ‘bluescreens’, as she would say, if she could muster the words. But she can’t. She can’t muster anything.
No anger, no offense. Tomura’s eyes reflect... fear now. But she knows that she can’t decay - does she know that, though? If she takes this hand so graciously offered, does she know that Salem won’t blacken at the edges and corrode away?
... Shigaraki takes her hand, first holding her index finger away from Salem’s flesh. Soft, soft, soft... she drops the finger, testing and wary, but nothing happens. Maybe she’s just too big to be corroded.
Without thinking, the Villain’s other hand holds onto Salem’s, rubbing, so smooth in comparison to the skin that Shigaraki is so keen on picking. He doesn’t want to pick Salem’s skin, though. He wants to preserve it.
“ ... Tomura Shigaraki. “ Tomura finally replies, wrenching her hands back when she’s held Salem’s for too long, recoiling like Salem could get mad at him. “ You aren’t all you seem, are you, Salem? What could someone like you have been so desperate to wish for? “
