Black Man... by Gelisa Bonner
You are a beautiful, magnificent, an exceptional work of art.
Like the canvas used to create you and make you, was the resemblance of God’s own heart.
For every stroke and line, God took notes and time to present such a masterpiece, sublime.
So eclectic with your hands, heart, and mind.
These are signs that you NEED to be protected, accepted, and respected.
It is disgusting how this society has reflected you as the enemy, try to be your “friend”, and do the deed of dropping you rejected.
Yelling out you can’t cry that a tear can’t be dropped by a man who provides.
Or that you are always too angry for your women to confide in...Why are they lying?!?!?
There’s strength in your tears. There is triumph over your fears. There is a greater purpose behind this fight that they have to tried to shackle, mock, kill your name for years!
Black Man...
You are love. You are loved.
There are shoulders that give you the ability to lean, with melodic words of encouragement and power that come from your Queen.
We have seen your struggle(s),. We have seen your blood, tears, and sweat.
Please understand,
WE hear you!!! WE see you!! WE will never forget...
The strength of your eyes through wars.
The resilience of your silence through those long nights,
The confidence found in your fist held up towards the sky, reassuring that things will be alright.
Black Man...
There is more to you, than you may understand.
You are beautiful, magnificent, an exceptional work of art.
Like the canvas used to create you and make you, was the resemblance of God’s own heart.
