Some of you may be under the notion that I might be coming back to tumblr sometime this year (if there’s still hope for my internet-less apartment). Well… Truth is, you’re only going to be able to reach me on Skype now-a-days.
I think I’m calling it quits with Tumblr. So if anyone still wants to talk or RP with me (even if you’re new and we haven’t talked), feel free to send me a message and I’ll try to get back to you when I can.
Alternatively, I may still stalk my personal blog from time to time. If you want to follow it, it’s thatsketchybastard.

After a while all of these daydreams begin to become something else entirely. Jac has noticed that if she spaces out enough that this thing from her dreams will still speak to her in her head. It doesn’t feel like a conscious effort... So the conversations they’ve been having have certainly kept her from leaving her apartment as often as of late.
A few more weeks have gone by. Every time she takes those pills she gets the onset of a cold, but luckily it doesn’t seem to last more than a day or so at this point.
She’s been telling her friends to go out without her for the past couple of days. Reea has been worried slightly, but Jac still puts forth the effort to see her.
After a month or so of this, Jac has noticed she’s started talking out loud whenever her and Bastion have conversations in her head. That he still responds as if he’s a thought passing through, but she’s been starting to think that it’s been getting louder lately. It sounds more like he’s in the room with her, like he’s actually there but she just can’t see him.
It brings up some questions one day when she’s cleaning her apartment. She’s the only one that lives there, since Reea only comes over once in a while to actually visit. She questions Bastion on his true existence. If he’s actually been following her around, or if he’s just her hyperactive imagination reclaiming an old long-lost childhood friend.
The answer wasn’t quite so obvious for her. He did tell her to simply look a little harder next time, and that he would be around. There wasn’t much more talking after that... So she ended up continuing her cleaning while listening to some music from her computer.
Later that evening, after she’s eaten and worked on some projects online, she makes her way back into her room. There was intent to take a shower--but she stops as soon as she steps inside the room, hand still on the doorknob.
“... Bastion?”
The odd entity had made itself comfortable on her bed, sitting on the edge of the mattress. There were no wrinkles in the blankets, almost as if he wasn’t even really there. He turns his head and the happy little mask he wears simply grins at her.
If it’s someone he needs to act as a host temporarily, he’s very dismissive about them. He could care less what’s going to happen to them because he only needs them to fulfill a need of his (usually communication/actions). Any injuries inflicted to the host stay with them after possession too, so… if he gets them into some mess, he can just leave when he feels like it and they could be miserable for all he cares.
He’s been known to possess bodies simply to kill them before. A morbid sense of curiosity he has, and he’s not limited to just possessing humans.
If he’s attached to the host or deems them important enough to serve as his prime host (which he would use as a constant), he’s much more… possessive (no pun intended). He doesn’t like it when people try to force him out of a body, or when he’s not using the body he doesn’t like it when people pull his host away from him. He’s quite accommodating actually, and tries to keep the well-being of his host in mind if he intends to use them for a much longer duration.
tldr; You could say he treats them like pets, actually.
A couple of weeks go by and despite the mild sickness that has overcome her, Jac continues to focus on her new life at the college. Things go just fine for her. All of her classes are scheduled the way she likes, she finds she will have plenty of personal time, and lucky for her that most of her classes that fall on the same day are relatively close to each other on the campus.
Meanwhile, she has slowly come to notice the growing lethargy that is affecting her. She finds it’s difficult to wake up in the mornings--that she wants to sleep in more and more. The blame is put on the stress of beginning college, that it will subside after a while once everything is fully settled. It’s not that she doesn’t get enough sleep, nor does she feel the need to nap in class, but... she does find herself drifting off into daydreams much more often as of late. Staring off into the distance, paying little attention to the here-and-now. At least it wasn’t too important in her first couple days of classes, and she thinks maybe she’s just over-thinking it. After all, daydreaming isn’t a bad thing for her to do--and she normally does it quite often regardless. It’s just that when she intends to pay attention, she still manages to slip away.
Her dreams lately have been quite surreal. A pang from a long-lost part of herself. These dreams of an odd figure closely relate to some old childhood memories... Ones that she let go of a long time ago once she came out of her metaphorical shell in high school, when she actually made friends who would pay attention to her.
But it’s nothing bad, really. He appears at seemingly random times when she’s asleep--though she doesn’t recall remembering these many dreams before. Normally she sleeps straight through the night with little more than rolling over once in a while. Dreams had felt like a rarity before.
So it’s almost comforting, to see someone she “hasn’t seen in a while” even if it’s just some fiction of her imagination. He brings a lot of good conversation--that she vaguely remembers but wakes up simply knowing they’d talked a lot of her stresses away--so she always wakes up feeling relatively stress-free and ready to go. Mentally, at least.
...
A few more weeks go by. Every Sunday night she takes another pill; the bottle says once a week. She thought it strange before, but appreciates that she doesn’t have to down so many meds per week just to sleep. It’s hardly an inconvenience, really.
It’s getting easier to remember this guy. She finds herself thinking about it often when she slips into those daydreams during the day. Whether in class or at her computer. She doodles him from time to time, wonders where he really came from. There’s something really strange about him, but she feels like she knows him more each night she goes to sleep.
Jac calls her mother one day and tells her the usual stuff--she’s fine at the new apartment, she’s got friends here, and her girlfriend visits often enough to keep her busy on her off days. Towards the end of their conversation she ends up asking her mom if she used to talk about her old imaginary friend with her at all. Tonya just tells her she has a whole office binder full of little drawings she used to do and what they looked like, and that Jac quite the imagination for her age back then.
She eventually asks her mom when she thinks she stopped having the imaginary friend, and her reply was sometime when she got her period--not too long before high school. Tonya gives her the small ‘you grew out of it’ talk, and Jac just laughs a bit and agrees. They talk a while longer before she ends the call.
Perhaps what memories she does recollect of this guy wasn’t entirely dreamed up. An old imaginary friend she used to have? Why would it come back now? It seemed really strange, but at the same time all of these dreams really leave her chilled out when she feels she should be stressed out.
Maybe it’s not so bad to have an imaginary friend when you’re grown up.
It’s been about a week since she moved away from home, into a new college town with a couple of close friends she still kept in touch with. It was night time currently, about time for her to head to bed in fact, and her girlfriend had already stopped texting her for the night. It was really late--getting close to midnight in fact and she felt it constricting her head: the needless urge to stay awake longer. It’s been a while since she’s had a decent night of sleep since she left home.
So without thinking too much about it--other than reminding herself that her mother remembered to give her some sleeping pills before she left--Jac goes into the small bathroom connected to her bedroom and opens the medicine cabinet. Neosporin, Aleve, a thermometer... and a short, fat orange bottle filled to the brim with bi-colored capsules.
Her reflection on the unopened side of the cabinet’s mirror showed the effects of her insomnia recently. Heavy eyes, light bruising under her eyelids, and a slightly paler and clammier skin. Eyes are already dry enough from rubbing them too often tonight, so she grabs the bottle of pills and twists the white cap off. She shakes the bottle gently; knocks two of the pills back with a glass of water from the sink before putting the container back.
A tired sigh and she leaves the bathroom, mirror still partially open and leaving the light on so it would shine through the crack she leaves in the door. The strip of light crosses the lower portion of her bed and highlights the wall next to her window.
As Jac climbs into bed, settles down and sends out one last text to Reea, she raises her arms to cross them behind her head and underneath her pillow. Her thoughts collect on the start of her classes soon. How she was going to manage her time and money along with some part-time job. Time passes--about twenty minutes or so--before she finally feels the tiring effects of the medicine.
Her conscious quickly wanes in and out, and with no intent on trying to persuade herself to keep awake any longer she drifts off into a light sleep.
Perhaps it was all in her mind, some side-effect of dozing off and somewhat being receptive to her surroundings still, but... she could have sworn that she felt something akin to a hand brushing over her hair gingerly (like her mother used to do when she was younger) before she fully submitted to slumber.
+Sorry I was gone for so long! I had to take a 10-day trip for a friend and myself, and I had almost no access to the internet for the entire time. I’m back though! New followers feel free to message me if you wanna plot or just talk.
“I will tell you now, I can wait a lifetime to get what I want.”
A story based around the Slenderverse, SyndromeSeven/[S7] is about a girl named Jac who’s cursed with the worst case of terrible happenstance.
Frought with restless sleep and nightmares, her mother sends her off with some strange medication she's kept since Jac was a child. After moving away from home, her and her friends start experiencing some strange visions, followed by an odd reoccuring figure that won't leave them alone. To add on top of all of this, people and friends they know start to disappear in the town.
A storyline that is still in progress--and will be written as notes and snippets on this blog--this blog is centered around the main antagonist Bastion, who is a creature of the void whose sole purpose is to act as a gateway between the Void and the normal world we all know.
The Slenderman/The Operator is not a main aspect of the story, but its mythos is implied and mentioned.
Any and all questions are welcomed, and while this is still a sprouting phenomena I would like to see where others stand on the idea and if it will be welcomed.
1962: Mai and Tai (the Twins) begin dabbling in the supernatural (thanks to their father’s shared interest), starting small with tiny 'spells' and midnight games. They drag their friends along to try and experiment. They're very good at persuading them.
1964:The Twins dig up some old grimmoires in their father's attic, and by this point are obsessed with the occult and have bought many things to further entertain them.
1965: Mai and Tai's shared girlfriend, Shawni, show them an abandoned warehouse they could use for fun. They drag Kyle along and show him, and after a long night of work, they cover the warehouse in strange markings, circles, candles, and other materials. They later bring the rest of their friends and say they're going to try something new. In an effort to bring forth a different type of entity, they manage to summon Bastion from the Void. It was likely due to a sigil mistake, and they wrote his symbol instead of something else.
1966: Over time they get more familiar with Bastion, having contained him in the warehouse so he can not leave. Bastion's a powerful force that their attention towards him grows more and more obscure, and they visit him much more often than they ever planned to.
1967: Bastion gets to possess Antonio for the first time, and it's his first venture outside of the warehouse. His influence has gained trust in the circle of friends, despite the harsh personalities of some. Months later, Antonio sneaks Bastion out of the warehouse via possession without permission from Kyle. It starts an odd sort of special relationship between the two, where Bastion prizes Antonio over the others due to his compliance.
1968: A lot of the 8 friends are very restricted socially-speaking. Some tried to move away, but ultimately could not because of Bastion's influential pull over them. Because of the known happenstances with Antonio and Bastion (it has become increasingly difficult to tell if Antonio is housing Bastion or not on a day-to-day basis), and the odd yet undeniable deaths/'disappearances' happening in the town, Kyle decides it's time to try and send Bastion back to where he came from. The group does copious amounts of research, all the while trying to avoid Antonio and diverging that information.
1969: More people have gone missing in the town, especially those who have tried to get close to the 8 friends. Antonio has refused to go to college, or work, or be social, or do anything other than spend time with Bastion and listen to him. Antonio has been deemed a diligent host, and is very important to Bastion because he has been bringing more people to him (to either kill or send into the Void/both). The others grow increasingly paranoid and are haunted by nightmares of this entity. With his presence not restricted to the warehouse for quite some time, he can appear to them at any time or place he wishes.
1970: The ritual to 'kill' Bastion takes place sometime in June/July. They bring Antonio back to the warehouse it all began in, and different markings cover the floors. Though much practice and research has been done to get rid of him, something still goes wrong (nondisclosed). Jason dies as a human sacrifice. With the ritual started, Antonio tries to break it and gets physical with Gregory in a fight. Gregory ultimately stabs Antonio, killing him, all the while Tai is trying to get him off Antonio anyways. An enraged Bastion kills Tai and Gregory together via impalement and despite all the this, Kyle manages to finish the ritual. Instead of doing what it was supposed to, it instead split Bastion into 8 pieces of himself (significantly draining his energy and individual powers being sent off in newer, separate entities). These new pieces form as similar entities to Bastion himself, with his base 'code' as a form to take as well as limited knowledge. Mai, Shawni, and Cassidy (all the females of the group) get possessed automatically when the ritual is completed. The other pieces scatter immediately and disappear, unheard of until a later date. Bastion, in his lesser form, is stuck with Kyle (since he is the last one alive, and the only person he can use to get his former self back in one piece).
1970-1996: Bastion uses Kyle to create a back-up plan in case he can not find the other halves of himself to kill. The pills they create will ultimately purpose a new body for permanent possession so that Bastion can walk freely and seek out his other pieces by himself without help. After years of being exposed to Bastion's influence (even at a smaller amount than before), Kyle ends up being very servant-like towards the entity in his later years.
1996: With the pass-off of the completed formula for the pills, Bastion is able to detached himself from Kyle and reattach himself to a new person whom he will rely upon to complete his work. Jac is 5 years old at the time.
I'm curious, are they some sort of ancient entity, created by the personification of something usually enigmatic (AKA: the Void), or are they just a creation of the universe unintentionally--a bit like a monster being born as one of the world's hiccups? Brought to life by accident?
Hmm.. Tough question, mostly because I haven’t been able to put it into words yet.
He’s not a personification of the Void. But he’s directly attached to it in every way? He’s a walking portal, so to speak, so anything that may happen in the Void may show through him. (though I doubt the Void would ever be destroyed, if that were an example he would disappear with it).
It wouldn’t be an accidental creation, but he was “created” whenever the Void came into existence (however long ago that was). He takes a mostly human shape because he can shift his appearance (as opposed to looking human before humans were really a thing). Before looking human, he looks more like a fluid shadow.
