anyway, finally finished Furia! Woo! He took some more time bc I wanted to get the fire vibes still there and be true to a lionfish
the real joke here tho is that lion fish fin membranes look like theyre transparent and i was fiddling with making that actually shine through and then i realized i would need to make the bottom of the tail show through the top fins and i decided it ws fineeeeeee (shading the fins was enough of a hand cramp lol)
I do like how the tail came out though! Its not 100% true to a real lionfish both in the general lack of transparancy and also in the coloring (the bottommost tail should be mostly white but i only realized my mistake after i got all my flat colors done and was too lazy to change)
i miiiight make a normal Furia design? Just to get a nice idea of what i think theyd look like, but there are some banger character designs people have made out there
Oh, and the idea of what Furia is holding is that its a fire/fire crystal trapped in cooled/harded magma- i was tempted to made it glass but i thought it would look cooler this way (though you could make the argument for it being an obsidian shell that is thin enough for the light to shine through)
also i was too lazy to do a background this time lol

Casual Mermaid!Tom thrown out there. He's based on a remora fish, which are those types of scavenger fish that typically eat parasites off of larger fish (but also feed on whatever carcasses that larger fish leaves behind). I thought it would be thematically relavent to how Tom is attached to Dianite in S1 and endlessly loyal, and also a nod to him being a zombie lol
No background + black lines for easier time looking at it. I was tempted to make Tom a Great White Shark, since they are also scavengers (to a degree) but I thought the remora might be cooler. I was also gonna make him more zombie like/drowned like but I realized two things: a) you can't really see rotten flesh on fish unless the scales are stripped away and I did not want to figure out how to make flesh and scales smoothly transition to one other (if you look at Tom's waist, a realistic look would be the scales actually fading into the skin but alas) and b) that sounded like a lotta work lmao
laziness wins boys
my next drawing is looking to be furia as a lionfish, but i gotta figure out the perspective for the spines and such (and the lines being at least somewhat cohesive lol)
after that im thinking betta fish martha
i have no idea how long this drawing kick will last so i gotta take advantage of it
Mermaid!Capsize based on the ribbon eel (look it up, its super cool).
This did take a bit more effort than Sonja due to the eel-tail and trying to figure out shading it, but I think it turned out well.
white background to make it easier to distinguish colors (with the exception that I had to take the white edging off the yellow fins, since it just vanish into the background lol)
personally i think the sonja one came out better but thats probs cuz hers was easier- the tail gave me a run for my money here. That, and the ribbon eel doesnt have an easy, symmetrical look when flipped sideways, so I tried to adpat it (since i wasnt super in love with the way it looked when i DID try the asymmetrical look)
Capsize's tail is longer than the typical mermaid tail due to her eel heritage here, which she has learned to use to her advantage both via grappling and using her tail as a whip and as a means of extra propulsion when she gets the rhythm of movement with her tail down right.
Fun Fact inspired by @/coolcattime 's suggestions: Ribbon eels don't do well in captivity- mostly as a result of either refusing food or attempting to escape. Which, if you remember Capsize's lore, makes for a lovely parallel.

Part 2 of the life-swap series! Oddly enough when I asked those close to me, none of them anticipated that I'd swap Chloe and Luka. Honestly it made more sense to me? Both have sisters, have at least one obscenely rich parent, and have crushed on the two leads?
Now onto the plot-
After finding out about the twins Jagged decided to battle for custody. He managed to get full custody of Luka, but not Juleka, and out of spit decided to cut the twins off from each other, causing Anarka to move to the the US. But despite having a young son now, this didn't stop Jagged from touring, often leaving Luka behind in Paris to be looked after by whoever was available. Even when he was in Paris he often avoided Luka, instead leaving Penny to watch him.
Luka grew up bitter at his fathers lack of care for him, and took it out on everyone around him. Mostly the staff of both Le Grande Pari, where he lives, as well as whatever caregiver his father/Penny had hired. When he went to school, he immediately began taking his anger out on everyone there too. Once Adrien's mom passed he took a special hatred to the blonde, in some ways seeing himself in Adrien. Both now children of single fathers, but Gabriel is in his sons life (whether that's good or bad doesn't matter to Luka).
And Luka, being an empath knows exactly how to get under ones skin. Because even if you don't show your emotions outwardly, he still can tell when he's struck gold. The only person he doesn't hate is Marinette, his childhood friend and the only person unaware of his attitude.
And yes, we are going for Cannon Chloe swap here, so no redemption for Luka. Sad. I'll draw Akuma-Viperion later.
Onto Chloe, once Andre found out about Audrey's infidelity he gave her two options. The first, he expose her and her career be permanently marred. Or she give him full custody of both Chloe and Zoe and the could divorce peacefully. Chloe hasn't seen her mom since she was 3 and quite frankly had no interest in her. Zoe only being a half sister to Chloe is a carefully guarded secret, one that Zoe thinks even Chloe doesn't know.
Chloe, not wanting to emulate her mother grew up with a very different mindset. Instead being taught that being both too aggressive and a pushover will lead to a mess. So she instead learns to govern her hive with a firm but steady hand. The staff of Le Grand Paris greatly respect her, and she is often the one sent to head off a Luka temper tantrum, as the only person unimpressed by both him and his father. She's more of an Clara Nightingale fan anyways.
She fast tracked her way through school, and decided to take Highschool online as to give herself more time to work both at the hotel and at her event planning company. As Queen Bee, she is fierce but kind. The favorite of the secondary heroes, since she is not only efficient at stopping the akuma, but will stick around to comfort and reassure both the victim and the civilians who were caught in the attack.
Due to her calm voice and good advice, Ladybug and Chat Noir have turned to her many times for comfort on both the chaos hero life and civilian troubles. She's always willing to listen when they need her. As such Hawkmoth sees her as the most beneficial to target. Only he seems scarred to akumatize her for some reason...
