Girls Night~! (with cake!) It's a slumber party~
Getting back into drawing after vacation (+ being sick yayyyy)
Decided I felt like drawing my Tav from BG3, Vryn, my favorite gith boy <3
"As long as each side thinks it can win, the balance holds, and the mage-rings stand."
“Sure, but…why lie about it?”
A young Jace Beleren walked alongside his mentor Alhammaret atop the narrow walkway of a tall watchtower. On the open field below, mages in red and blue robes fired spells at each other from across the plains, sending colored sparks into the sky. The energy drifted through the air before absorbing into the towering mage-ring overlooking the battlefield.
“Why lie about what?” asked the sphinx.
Jace’s face scrunched up in puzzlement. “I don’t know…all of it! It seems bad to have them fight each other, when they could just work together to power the mage-rings all the same. Right?”
Alhammaret gave Jace a condescending laugh. “Mortals would fight to the death over the smallest minutae, before they even begin to cooperate.”
“That doesn’t sound right.”
“Oh no? Look below.”
Jace glanced down to the battlefield. Sure enough, the two sides were reveling in their mutual destruction, shouting to each other in casual conversation and jovial taunting alike, even as enemy spellfire blew them apart. Jace grimaced at the carnage, only to feel a heavy paw pat his shoulder.
“Worry not. Necromancy is a powerful magic.”
“Sure, but still! All that mana to bring them back, why couldn’t we just use that to-”
“Enough.” Alhammaret’s tone signaled an end to the discussion. “I have to speak to the troops.”
“Er…which side?”
Jace’s question was left unanswered as Alhammaret pushed past him to lean over the balcony and speak in a magically amplified voice:
“*Five minutes left in the mission!*”
When Alhammaret returned his attention to Jace, he was greeted with an even more bewildered frown than before. He answered the telepath’s unspoken question with but a dismissive wave of his paw.
“Master Alhammaret, none of this makes sense.”
The sphinx merely smiled, and pointed up to the charging mage-ring.
“But it works.”
[I actually don’t know anything about Vryn, but just judging from the flavor text and such, I’m thinking maybe…it was an Administrator TF2 situation, playing both sides and such?]
Forgot to post this here
