Hector x Dracula’s daughter!Reader
A/N: This is my first castlevania fic, so please excuse it for being a bit well meh
The long day was finally beginning to draw to a close and you find yourself wandering inside the halls of the castle. Being the daughter of Dracula, you had much responsibility in participating in the war and became a general on your right. Most of the time, you’ll spend all day doing your duties relating to the war effort, but for today, you’ve completed all your tasks that was needed and couldn’t really find much to do than exploring the grand interiors of the castle. As you were strolling, you began to slowly daydream.
It was easy to get lost in your thoughts and soon enough, you weren’t aware of your surroundings. So, when the sudden a familiar sharp thud echoed into the hall from a nearby room, you were greatly startled, to say the least. But, you were brought into reality again. Immediately, you recognized which part of the castle you were in and realized you were just a few feet away from Hector’s workplace.
As usual, his door was wide open, but you still took precautions so you don’t disturb Hector. Studying the condition of his room, you notice that he was almost finished with his work. So, you gently knocked on the side of the door to get his attention.
Hector quickly turned around and initially had a rather shocked impression. However, his face warmed up rather quickly. “Y/N!” He smiled.
You strolled into his room and found little cezar sniffing your ankle, begging to get picked up. Gently, you let him into your arms, letting the pug’s head rest on your shoulder as you stroke it’s fur.
“Don’t mind me.” You softly said while petting the dog. “I’m just a bit bored, that’s all”
“Trust me, I enjoy your company quite often.” Hector lightly laughed. “I’ll just need to finish turning this last corpse, if you don’t mind.”
Hector proceeded to turn the dead body into a fearsome monster. No matter how many times you saw his devil forgemastering at work, you’re still at awe. You watched while gently stroking the dog, gaping at how each stroke of his hammer slowly transforms a dead being into a horrid creature. Once he was done, he led the demon out the window, while giving it a set of commands.
Suddenly, the pug jumped out of your embrace, being distracted by some reanimated bird of some sorts. For a moment, an awkward silence filled the room.
Hector glanced at you and quickly turned back, focusing his eyes on his hammer as he cleans it.
“What are you going to do now, y/n?” His voice broke the tension in the room.
You sighed and walked to the table that stood in the middle of the room, causing you to be right beside Hector.
“Honestly, I’m not sure.” You slightly grinned. “Perhaps I’ll just force my self to go to bed.”
Hector looked at you once more and his eyes shifted towards the ground. The corners of his lips slowly went upwards and a calm, joyful expression took over the face.
“Well.” He was clearly hesitant, it was as if he was forcing the words to come out his mouth.
“…I wouldn’t mind if… if you came along with me.”
“Huh?” You raised your eyebrows.
He lowered his gaze and sighed. “It’s kind of.. well somewhat silly, but I enjoy looking at the night sky outside.” He paused and then deeply inhaled. “However, if you’re not interested, I’ll comp-“
“I’d love to, Hector!” You interrupted, putting his doubts to rest.
Letting out a sigh of relief, he led you outside to the castle bridge. The air was slightly chilly and crisp. The sky above was completely cloudless, and the entire Milky Way shined brightly. Hector rested his elbows on the stony ledge while cupping his face in his palms. You simply followed and leaned right beside him. For the next few minutes, it was quiet and all you and Hector did was gaze at the sky above. But you wanted it to last forever.
