"The room reeks of stale beer, sweat, blood, axle grease. Vi’s smeared with it, stained and filthy and Cait wants that, too. So she’s unfastening the brass snaps on her clean white blouse and she’s crossing the littered floor kicking glass bottles with her hasty feet and she’s reaching for the unwashed and bruised and aching hands of the other woman and she’s putting them on her own body saying “Touch me,” and these are the only words either of them will say tonight.

Vi marks the milky skin under her blackened hands, dragging dark and greedy lines over the shower fresh flesh. Her eyes flutter open and even though she sees her there, she’s still not totally sure it’s Cait. How could it be? Cait holds her eyes closed tightly and presses against Vi, wanting nothing more than to be smeared and stained and tattooed with the smut of this fucking city. To be dirtied by Vi’s hands until there’s nothing clean left. She arches her back, needfully pressing into her, wanting to take every unclean and painful thing from Vi unto herself and leave Vi clean and soft and safe. But that’s not how any of this works. In the noxious blue light seeping through the grimy window they kiss and grope and fold their two bodies into one filthy shape of pain and raw passion."
