actually we have alters locked up in our sys too. like they dont want to get better they literally only want to make everyone worse. like sometimes locking people up is whats needed?? not every system has the same experience

Yeah !! I've talked abt this before but like the generalization of what systems "need" to do with their alters irritates me so bad. Every system's brain is different and needs different coping mechanisms

I was sm1 say it was abusive and heinous to lock up an alter and prevent them from interacting with other alters or fronting, and saying there are "better ways" to handle someone than that ("talk to them, get a protector to watch them" etc) but like I'm just trying to survive lol some of our persecutors are awful awful to the rest of us and we can't do anything abt it and it feels like anyone who says stuff like that doesn't rlly understand it
