Going to lose my mind at the tiktok psychology experts who were told that all intrusive thoughts have to be along the lines of "i want to murder my mom with this knife stab her stab her stab her!!"

I get the frustration with the "I let the intrusive thoughts win 🤪" people, I do. But that doesn't mean you get the right to tell people what is and isn't an intrusive thought for them.

A good guideline to follow is this: is it distressing? It is intrusive. Is it not distressing? It is impulsive.

But the problem now lies in: how do you know what is distressing for someone else?

For YOU "shave your head" is not a distressing thought. For someone else it is highly distressing. You do not know what is happening in someone else's mind.
