My uncle's wife is dying, and she's already telling him how she wants their joint properties to be divided among their kids. It seems like the following days would be her final days being lucid. My uncle still sleeps in bed with her every night, even though she has a lot of tubes and things on her. He only leaves her side when he has to. They're trying to get the best out of their remaining time together, honoring their wedding vows, and I can't help but be in awe at how beautiful that is.
I think it's sad that they had to part so suddenly, after so many years of being together. They had been together longer than the years I lived in this world. But they are still lucky they had each other for decades. It's something not a lot of people have these days.
