A chocolate shake was in his hands as he made his way out of the arcade in the Cote Ward. The shake was the only reason he came to the arcade, since he wasn’t very good at games and didn’t have much interest in them. The food this place served was mediocre, but the shakes? The shakes were great - mixed smooth enough that he didn’t have to fight with the straw for a drink but thick enough that it didn’t melt into a soup after ten minutes. And when you ordered the chocolate one, as Eddie always did, they loaded it with chocolate.
Eddie had a mouthful as he was called out, head turning to furrow a brow at the masked older man standing in front of a chance game. He swallowed down the mouthful without fear of a brain-freeze and neared.
“Hate to break it to you, but I’m actually terrible at those things. They’re rigged to eat your money anyway - why bother?” Eddie pauses to take a slurp of his shake after an impatient mumble in his head, as he does he gestures deeper into the arcade. “Maybe you can pay one of the workers off for one?” [Or break the thing and take it] “Or break..- uh.. I mean I wouldn’t resort to stealing because of course that’s wrong.”
soldier would have checked out the shakes if he wasn’t too dead set focused on getting this stupid plushie. just today he decided to come, and he was struggling very hard to make any progress in this plushie filled adventure.
“ it’s for someone. a... present, yeah. ” he did lie through his teeth, but it was somewhat true. he wants to give some to someone, he just didn’t know who. right now? he just wanted one for himself. “ i’ve spent a lot on this damn thing --- it keeps dropping it before it has a chance to land. ” he’s struggling, alright.
“ i think i just might pay someone, yeah. ” he does sound a bit defeated, but he continues. “ im not gonna get in trouble with the law for a few plushies, young man. maybe on my old days, but not today. “ at least, not in public. he’d do it in the middle of the night quietly. “ how about you give it a try? you never know. i thought i was pretty good at these things and look at me. “ a mess, probably.
he puts a coin in, hoping the man would agree to help a seemingly helpless old man.
