Hey Scholars,

We have some important news for you.

We’re sorry to announce that Sweet Elite’s artists, An and Cecile are leaving the team. Both of them are moving on to different things in their lives. We’re sad to see them go, but thankful for all of what they’ve done for the project. We wish them nothing but the best for the future. :)

However, we’re happy to announce that we have a new artist! Meet Ariel, aka @prophet-cat! We’re very excited to have her on board. She’s an art student, certified nerd/geek and wants to become a tattoo artist one day! Feel free to go send her some love!

Quick FAQ:

Will you be recruiting any other artists? No: Ariel will be in charge of pretty much all of Sweet Elite’s art in the future. However, if we need someone to help out, we will post our recruitment campaign on all of our social media accounts.

What will happen to the artstyle of the game? Ariel will be working towards a stylistic transition over time. After all, she is the new official artist of the game and we intend to give her 100% artistic freedom. However, this will be done gradually so that we do not alienate our players. For now, she will be doing her best to keep giving you the Sweet Elite style that you love! :)

Will the current Main 10 sprites, Scholar sprites and illustrations be redone? The past illustrations will not be redone. All sprites will eventually be updated as it becomes necessary, starting with Scholar’s sprite. However, Ariel will be focusing her energy on making the art for chapter releases, first and foremost. Our priority is to get you those precious moments with your love interest as soon as possible.

How does this affect the future of the game in general? It doesn’t! Sweet Elite will go on, business as usual. :)

Sweet Elite Related Proposal!

Hey everyone! I want your opinion on this.

You guys probably already know that we do Q&A sessions with an SE character each week. These events are usually really successful and I know fans tend to appreciate! 

So, I was thinking, to up our game, why not do something even more interactive? 

Introducing: Matchup Mondays! 

Every 2 Mondays or so, you could send an ask to the game’s main blog (@sweetelite-staff), describing you, your OC, your friend, etc. and the staff will match you up with one of the SE characters! 

I think it would be a good way to get to know you guys more AND for you to know more about the characters, and maybe decide on a route if you’re not sure :)

Before I start planning the logistics of this event, I’d like to get the opinion of the community, so let me know what you think! :D Serena

Thots on chapter 5

WARNING: Contains spoilers. Like no shit.

• Tadashi’s smile in the first illustration is so unbelievably awkward and pained, god bless

• Neha’s smile in the second illustration, however, holds enough power that it stopped my heart upon first viewing. I had to be electrocuted back to life in the ambulance witnesses called for me.

• Love how roasting Karolina at lunch and dunking on her crush on Tadashi gives you +5.

• And then Neha is like “really? Right in front of my salad?”

• The entire branch of the Tadashi lunch scene where you make fun of him for having 1.5 friends total is gold.

• Finally some good old fashioned vulnerability from Neha. Light hearted talk about family memories. That’s the good shit we both need and deserve.

• All the hints in that convo that Neha isn’t as financially well off as the rest of the students, and the implication that her family is dependent on Neha’s income. Like maybe She started off as rich as the rest of them and her family’s finances are failing and she’s the one holding the sinking ship together, or she started off middle class and gained her wealth via her business? Either way, her family is dependent on her success and her income.

• I’m leaning towards the she didn’t start off wealthy angle, due to Axel’s comment in the washroom and Neha complaining about uniform costs.

• That also could have been what she and Alistair were talking about in Tadashi’s route chapter 3, when he said something along the lines of “you need to tell her sometime”.

• She said Scholar was one of the few people who could relate to her family situation, so it would make sense for her to feel comfortable opening up about her family struggles to Alistair too since, like Scholar, he’s also middle class with a large family depending on his success.

• Also would explain why she can’t open up to Karol about the thing she’s worried about (ex. Karol not noticing that Neha is stressed out at lunch and Neha brushing it off when Scholar asks about it in front of her), because Karolina is poorphobic.

• Raquel’s thing still isn’t explained, but it’s confirmed that even outside of the interviews Raquel can’t be seen on camera (Tadashi telling her to not draw attention at lunch, her absence from the Athletic Department’s performance, etc). It was fine last year when it was just sponsors watching, but now that the general public can see the stream she can’t be seen at Arlington. Maybe Raquel’s family doesn’t know she’s enrolled at Arlington, or they think she’s in a different department? Maybe they pulled her out after the first year? Raquel was like “I’d do anything for my team” in the unedited interview. Is Raquel even her real name? Who knows! The cowardly writing staff won’t leak anything to me bcus they’re beta hoes w/ no loyalty.

• The Health Sciences Department blows up half their presentation and Scholar bullshits a thing about how this animal can just totally create spontaneous explosions due to biological jargon and the judges are like “genius. Never would have thought of that myself. What true intellectuals”.

• Just gonna copy and paste what I said about the endings in the beta chat because i’m lazy: I like how the relationship development is progressing at different paces for all of them. Like with Tadashi there's already outright flirting whereas with Karolina they're just beginning to respect each other as equals, and each relationship is progressing at a different pace that makes sense for the character, but it's still progressing. Like Karol and Neha aren't as openly attracted to scholar even though other characters are because it wouldn't make sense for their characters to be like that, but there's still positive development so it doesn't feel like fans of the other characters get romantic tension and karol/neha fans get nothing.

• That part in the Fashion Department route where Karolina and Scholar have a heated snark fest and when Karol leaves Neha is like “wow Scholar, you’ve really grown on Karolina! I think she likes you!”

You know, I love how some of you message me or send asks to the development blog like “Would you guys consider adding (feature) here into Sweet Elite?”  Like, fam. We’re not Beemoov. Give us enough feedback, show us enough demand and make your case. If your need is strong enough and if things are feasible… we’ll do it.

Will there be any sex scenes though? Of course I don't mean those like from ao3 fanfics but really subtle so we know that surely something happened? Because Beemoov always had been telling us that no, game is 14+ so no sex scenes, yada yada but right now it seems that they don't really care... I'm an adult so I'd like some cute 'making love' scenes but I'd rather you to tell me this from the beggining, I really don't like inconsistency. Whatever you say i'll still play tho

Guess what? We don’t like inconsistency either. 

And yeah, I’m well aware of Beemoov’s… weird way of working things out for NSFW content. But when we say 14+, we mean 14+. This means absolutely no nudity and explicit sex scenes like what you’ve seen in My Candy Love. Unfortunately, while we understand the interest in love making scenes, this is not going to happen in Sweet Elite. Will there be sexual tension? Yes. Will there be talks of sex? Of course. We’re dealing with teenage characters after all, lol. I don’t want to go into more detail on this topic because of potential spoiler territories, but I really want to make it clear that explicit scenes will not be included in Sweet Elite. 

Of course, if the demand for it is very high, we might very well include this type of content in our future projects! But not SE.
