when heeseung turned sixteen, he came out to his aunt. she had been supporting, obviously, but what she said to him after giving him a bone crushing hug is what stuck with him.
βitβs yn, isnβt it?β
heeseung remembers the way his blood went cold the second she asked him that, her tone was everything but accusing but heeseung had felt backed into a corner.
unable to look her into the eyes he had just nodded, βyeah,β a small smile formed on his face, βyeah, itβs him.β
heeseung knows deep down that he shouldnβt be surprised his aunt had caught onto his crush before he himself even knew he was gay. despite always priding himself on being astounding at hiding his emotions he knows his aunt sees right through him. she had always told him that when around yn, he wears his heart on his sleeve.
and now, as he stares at ynβs pretty face, he couldnβt agree with her more.
yn's just as pretty as he was when heeseung last saw him, but he looks different now. his hair is messier and his usual bright eyes are now rimmed red, as if he'd been crying.
the thought of his yn crying already makes heeseung feel distraught, and the fact that yn's crying because of him, makes him break a little inside.
yn's shoots him a small smile before retreating back into his small room. the already small distance between them becoming larger as yn sits on his bed, the silence deafening.
heeseung moves without thinking, his feet making a quick succession towards yn.
his heighten senses picking up yn's breath catching as his hand wraps around his lithe wrist. heeseungβs mind feels as if itβs full of cotton as he plops down onto his knees in front of yn.
the youngerβs eye bulge as he looks down at heeseung, βwhat?β what is happening right now,β his pretty brows furrow and heeseungβs heart flutters.
heeseung cracks a smile, βiβm apologizing,β his fingers rubbing gently at the soft skin of ynβs wrist, βi'm sorry," his voice is soft, breathless.
yn glares at him, his eyes glassy, "for what?"
heeseungβs fingers twitch, heart stumbling messily in his ribcage from hearing yn's voice after so long, "for everything. for-for waiting so long to tell you, for letting you find out in that way. i'm so, so sorry, baby."
yn's eyebrows pull tight, a small frown forming on his already pouted lips.
"why? why didn't you tell me?"
heeseung's face burns under yn's glare, "because i knew you'd worry too much."
"i'll always worry, heeseung. spiderman or not, i'd worry about you. you are- youβre my best friend, of course i'd worry, but," yn pauses, his voice wavering, "can you put yourself in my shoes for a second? every single day you've been lying to me, every day for two years, heeseung. what am i supposed to think?β heeseungβs chest clenches as a tear slips from ynβs eyes.
βi wanted to tell you, i really did itβs justβ¦ i was scared. i was scared of what would happen when i told you,β heeseung leans forward, resting his forehead against ynβs knees, βifβif people found out that you knew spiderman, if villians found out, theyβd try to hurt you. if you got hurt because of me i wouldnβt know how to live with myself, i couldn't stand that you just knowing me could get you killed. i can'tβi won't lose you."
with a sniffle, yn gently grasps heeseungs hand into his own, giving it a soft squeeze before dropping it. soft fingers grip heeseungβs chin gently, making him look up at yn, "hee, iβm not going anywhere. i can hold my own, you know i can.β
heeseung nods as if he's on autopilot, his mind barely catching up with the words that fell from yn's infuriatingly pretty lips.
βwhen i let you into my life, into my heart, i let all of you in. not just bits in pieces. i want to you to let me see all of you, please let me,β ynβs thin fingers slide down from his face to rest onto his neck, tugging heeseung towards him.
taking the hint, heeseung rises to his feet, ears burning red as he is yanked to stand between ynβs legs. heeseung's breath catches in his throat as he looks down to yn, his heart beating in his ears loudly as the younger pulls his face close, βyouβll let me, right? promise me.β
unable to stop himself, heeseung smiles, leaning down to nose against ynβs neck, βyeah, i promise.β
SUMMARY: having a crush on a superhero? very common. having a crush on a superhero who's secretly your best friend? that would only happen to yn.
