To be real with y’all, I was excited about BTS world, I even bought the gems expansion right at the beginning cause I absolutely loved the first levels and was sure that I’ll play through the entire thing and played it for hours but now that I’m on chapter 3 and ahead, this really ain’t it.
Jimins storyline has a literal plotline of shit like him denying to eat even though his hands are shaking from starvation and that he is collapsing in practice halls over working himself to that point. That he denies to eat anything because he has to have abs. Him saying that he feels like he’s the least talented in the group and he has to not eat at all to maintain his godforsaken abs. This is really messed up. No way is this depiction of him healthy in any way. There are impressionable teenagers who idolize him; would literally do anything to be like him playing this game around the world and not to mention but about a ton of people who already target Jimin and assume that he has eating disorders, call him anorexic and come at him just because he was open about his struggles with his body image. Damn atleast put some trigger warning if you’re going to make a whole game level out of something so damn grave and unsettling, something that his fans have shed real ass tears about. This is just another one of those things that put Jimin and his worst insecurities out in the open for people to judge and talk about. I have seen posts about how Jimin encourages eating disorders because he agreed this whole thing to be a part of the game and his story line. And for anyone who thinks for a second that Park Jimin would have willingly agreed to have put out this narrative of his life, Park jimin being the single most private person in the group who we really don’t know shit about tbh. There’s no way in hell he would’ve agreed to this bullshit being played as a game level, no way in hell.
Things like this have happened to him in his real life and to put them in a fucking game for people to play on his insecurities and make memes about. These are very real and very harrowing issues that him and many people in this world have to deal with. Do y’all know how fucking sickening it feels to force yourself not to eat even though your body is begging for it? How fucking hateful one must have to be of themselves to make yourself go through that? I’ve been there myself and let me tell you, I would be absolutely disgusted if someone were to make a game level out of the nights I’ve cried myself to sleep on an empty stomach wondering why I can never be enough.
Now I know that some of you might say that this is a part of his journey so it should be shown, fuck no. This is not the way you show his darkest nights, this is not the way you put out his deepest insecurities in a goddamn game for people to gawk upon. And for those of you who say, “but it’s just fiction”; you and I both know that Jimin starving himself and overworking himself to death is anything but fiction. You think people who cannot separate AO3 from reality will be able to comprehend how these issues are not something that you should talk about with memes. I’ve already seen memes about “my reaction when Jimin collapsed due to starvation and I have to take responsibility”, no fuck you. You don’t know shit about what it fucking feels like to take responsibility for someone who is in that situation.
Man, kpop was never supposed to be this fucking deep. You should’ve kept Jimins past out of this damn game. You should’ve known that there are certain lines you don’t cross. There are certain issues that you cannot take in such a casual manner that you put them in a damn playstore app for kids to live out their y/n fantasies. This might be a game but it is connected to a real human being you know? The “jimin” of the game is a Jimin in real life. He isn’t just a fictional character, he is a real human being who has gone through some real shit and for them to take his worst nights and make a game level out of it, it’s just, It’s just not something I can support as a person who respects Jimins journey but knows how it feels to be in his place and how it feels when you can’t escape your past no matter how much you try to, no matter how much you’ve evolved as a person. In 2019, To have people see him as the insecure boy who starved himself to perfection and not the boy who worked so fucking hard his entire goddamn life to be at a place where he finally feels happy about who he is as a person and an artist, it’s just so fucking sad. Just this year he has gained enough courage to be happy with who he is and has mentioned it multiple times that this is the happiest he has been. For them to completely negate all that he has become as a person and take us all back to a Jimin that was not half the person he is today, this just, this is not something I’ll stand for and that’s that. "The game has no intended connection to real life individuals" motherfucking liars they literally wanted to play the fiction card to save their assess yet used Jimin’s very real past struggles to make money off of it to sell it to people cause the sad shit always sells right? This is so low. Jimin collapsing on the ground after starving himself is a literal level. Just stop for a second and think about that? Damn, I refuse myself to take someone’s worst nightmares and play them as a game level for my entertainment.
Also, I’m not asking y'all to not play or whatever. It’s a democratic world afterall, no one can really tell anyone to do anything; I’m just pointing it out how fucked up it is for his own company to have taken his journey and made this twisted shit out of it, that’s all.
He does not deserve this, he really fucking doesn’t deserve this shit.
