19 . 03 . 04 The day of your enlistment is here at long last. I can’t even begin to describe this bag of mixed emotions I have today. But what I do know is how so very proud I am of you. I’m extremely honored and grateful that you’ve brought us so much happiness, joy, laughter and love over the past few years. I’m glad that I was there right from the start and I’m sure your parents, family & friends are even more overjoyed and proud at your progress throughout the years. From a trainee to a leader. From a dancer to a mentor. From a junior to a senior. You had to juggle hosting duties, being a DJ, choreographer, actor, all the while leading a group to greater heights time and again. And as you so courageously undertook these roles, you never wavered in your loyalty to your members as well as your connection to your fans. You remained our everlasting kind & compassionate, Cha Hakyeon.
As a professional artiste you shone the brightest onstage with your boys and your humility took center stage in fan meets. Never once boastful or egoistical, VIXX came to be known as being one of the most respectful groups around and it is a testament to your leadership over the years. Thank you for being the emblem of VIXX; for guiding our boys extremely well. Thank you for being Taekwoon’s lifelong friend, Jaehwan’s strict teacher, Wonsik’s pal, Hongbin’s inspiration and Sanghyuk’s pride (& basically being their mother 24/7 ⌒_⌒) I know that you’ll probably have worries about your boys & the team but you’ve led them so well and they will forge on with our love & support. 걱정 하지마, 괜찮을거야. We owe you so much.
You generously allowed us to peek into your personal life (& unsurprisingly) we are amazed at how great of a son, brother, uncle and friend you are. Though busy with work, you made time for all the important people in your life. A filial child, a doting uncle, a loving brother & a true blue friend, you certainly ticked them all. No doubt you have regrets as we all do, and yet you tried your best in all aspects of your professional and personal life. Thank you for always trying to show us your best side & true self. We love you so much.
Today, as you begin this new chapter in your life, I only hope & pray for your health, safety and happiness. Many dread this aspect of a KPOP star’s life. That enlisting means we won’t get to see our beloved celebrities & their work. However, I am here to tell you how unequivocally proud I am of you. For fulfilling your duty to your country. That more than anything else, I am also content that you will be able to have some respite & peace from a life in the spotlight. May you have a momentary reprieve & a semblance of normalcy away from the glare of the cameras. I’m glad you’ll have this time to learn new things and pick up fresh skills amongst the new memories that you’ll make with your military mates. It’s a new but necessary chapter of your life but one I know you’ll tackle bravely and wonderfully. 화이팅! 아자, 아자!
I hope that you’ll always remember that your family, friends, members and fans will always be rooting for you and we’ll patiently await your return home. You’ve always done us proud, we know you’ll shine spectacularly there too.
