Orgrimmar, 1st July

I cannot recall the last time I have felt the urge to document my life and my journeys, but then again, it has been some time since I have had something of note to speak of, beyond mind-numbing drudgery. Until recently, I have been weighed down by an order that has had me performing merely as an errand boy while war rages around us, neither fighting nor helping, as we had been tasked.

It is not just me who is feeling the sting of uselessness. Varryl Echostrider will be taking a leave from the order, setting sail for new lands so that he may be of service. Hartlan Sunweaver has joined me in Orgrimmar, having made the extended journey from the Eastern Kingdoms in order to sate her more ... tumultuous desires. Both have told me, in their own way, that it is time we make our own path; that if we are to quell the conflict that besets this world, we must carve our futures independently of an order that has fallen into stagnation.

How did I find myself in Orgrimmar? Fate would have it that I encountered a former order member, one Sophysa Starflare, on one of my more menial directives. She has been in service of a Thalassian military regiment, investigating a threat to our homeland from renegade Amani. I assisted their endeavors that day to fight this threat and sustained some injuries in the process; a portal allowed the injured among us to escape (my broken arm paled in comparison to Miss Selindice’s loss of her hand), and suddenly there I was, inside the thrumming heart of the Horde itself, contemplating my life’s choices that led to here.

All I plan to say on my first impression of Orgrimmar is that there are way, way more spikes than I had ever imagined.

However, I have felt renewed purpose in the company of the Dawnfury Concordant. They still consider me a citizen in their efforts, but I am more than happy to provide my assistance, so long as I do not become a burden. I am still mulling my options, and I suspect that to join them would be seen as another case of treason (as with Sophysa) among the order, my very first true family. Atrion Highstalker saved my life a year ago, liberated me from the prison into which my father had entrapped me. But First Light has become a prison of sorts, in and of itself. Ideals into which I may never fully fit. Unwarranted zealotry. Appearing neutral on the outside, yet cutting down dissenters on the inside.

I cannot help but recall, from my very early days, Commander Highguard’s discussions regarding the Undead -- that even those pledged to our cause, such as Hartlan Sunweaver, would eventually need to be put down as abominations against the Light. Are they to do the same with me -- use me as their weapon until I show a hint of wear or defiance, and then take my life?

Would they end me, too, were I to defend Miss Sunweaver, if and when they determine she is no longer of worth?

At any rate, these are thoughts that I do not have to ponder quite yet. In the meantime, I shall remain in Orgrimmar, assisting with Dawnfury’s efforts as I await Varryl’s arrival in port. It has been far too long since we parted company, and I worry he may have fallen into peril. Sophysa has mentioned something regarding the sea opening up. I pray my brother has not fallen, for the sea holds many horrors. And sharks. Way too many sharks.

The Final Week of Pride Month

This is the LAST WEEK of Pride Month upon us and it’s a full schedule! There are events EVERY SINGLE DAY for this last week, staring up tomorrow. All times below are Pacific Standard Time (PST).

As always, don’t forget about the month-long raffle with winners announced at the closing ceremonies on June 30. There’s a wide variety of prizes available, including gold, a mount, and art pieces! Tickets are 500g each, or you can get 11 tickets for 5000g

On Monday, you know it, you love it - the last Speed Dating event for the month! As always, in the portrait room in Dalaran at 6pm!

On Tuesday, a play, “Starbound” will be performed at 7pm over at Seradane in the Hinterlands. I have the utmost assurances that it is gay as all hell.

On Wednesday, starting at 5pm is the Sha'tari Bazaar over in Shattrath city, a special version of the event focusing on Pride month.

On Thursday, the Azeroth Peace Council is holding their monthly Soup Kitchen starting at 5pm, again focused on Pride month. It will be in Ratchet, so come and get something to eat.

On Friday, starting at 9am, I will be doing a marathon Twitch stream for charity and to kick off the Leylines for Life event over on https://www.twitch.tv/magicalclararose! I will be creating a new WoW character and leveling as high as I can get. The chat will get to choose almost everything, including race and class, which zones I quest through, and all of that! It all benefits the Rainbow Railroad charity, which helps LGBTQ+ people trapped in countries that have state-sponsored terror agaisnt them to get out of those countries. On Saturday and Sunday, the Leylines for Life event happens in earnest. Again focused on raising charity funds for the Rainbow Railroad, it’s a show of solidarity to end off the month.
