My Absence + The Future

As some may have noticed, my tumblr presence has been sort of…abruptly vanishing the past bit. Part of it was my sub expiring and some other minor issues that kept me from playing Subetei, but I’ve honestly just had no muse for Subetei as of late because I’ve been enjoying other things.

Then Tumblr decided to crap the bed.

Frankly, I want to have some hope it won’t be as bad as it sounds, and it sounds horrible. While I don’t post nudity on Subetei’s blog very often, what I do post is aesthetics and NSFW art of my character and while I could give an overly dramatic speech and explanation of why I feel it’s wrong Tumblr would censor these, as well as the multitude of other harmless and well within rights to be posted content they seem to intend to censor…

It’s easier for me to just vote with my presence. Or lack thereof.

I’m logging off my Tumblr account as of today and will not be returning until Tumblr either reduces the scope of or significantly alters it’s current plans. Of significant influence on my decision is Tumblr’s decision to use it’s infamously terrible bots to do so. Which has resulted in a tidal wave of content that has no business being flagged and of course, the muting of posts and blogs.

So what does this mean for me? Well, I was lucky enough thanks to @star-wicce​ to snag a Pillowfort code and I can be found at https://www.pillowfort.io/Salt_And_Storm As well I’m available on Discord at Versesai#3794 and I’d love to add anyone who wants to communicate and chat. If you need to contact me but aren’t comfortable using Discord or can’t follow my Pillowfort I’m activating a sort of temporary FFXIV Twitter at https://twitter.com/SubeteiN which I can’t say will be terrible active, but I will be checking it routinely.

As of now I’m still looking for a more long-term solution to where to go while Pillowfort builds up and becomes a suitable new home. I am open to Discord RP and discussions in the interim and may be looking into a blog specifically for hosting my writing, off tumblr.

In the early days of their relationship Neyuki often laid on Subetei’s chest, stroking over his skin; one night she got curious, pointed to a scar, and give him a quizzical expression. He told her the story of how he got that scar before she fell asleep with him and the next night she did the same. That became a nightly ritual for them, once they had settled down to go to bed, finding the origin to one of his scars until she knew the story of all of them.

Every one of Subetei’s scars is a story and he can remember every single one; He tells some stories proudly, and hides the rest. Except for Neyuki, whom he’s shared every single one with. She knows the story of the scar on his back that no one else will ever know, the wounds to his legs that came from fleeing Ishgard he doesn’t share.

She especially knows about a certain bite scar on his chest, considering she gave it to him~

Neutral Evil

A neutral evil villain does whatever he can get away with. He is out for himself, pure and simple. He sheds no tears for those he kills, whether for profit, sport, or convenience. He has no love of order and holds no illusion that following laws, traditions, or codes would make him any better or more noble. On the other hand, he doesn't have the restless nature or love of conflict that a chaotic evil villain has. Some neutral evil villains hold up evil as an ideal, committing evil for its own sake. ➍ Would you say you’re a decent roleplayer or do you have any self doubts?

Honestly?

I feel like I used to be better at roleplaying. I feel like I used to have more attention, more focus, more inspiration and creativity. Maybe it’s age, my attention drifting more often, work cutting in and my family life, but I don’t feel the same spark from some of my writing that I used to.

I don’t think I’m bad by any stretch, and my self-doubts all relate to my own thoughts and inability to self-evaluate anything I do, but I do feel like I’m not as good of a roleplayer as I could be. Or as good of a writer, for that matter.

➓ What were some of the most frustrating moments you had with your muse’s interaction with another muse?

@bananawaffles12 also asked this question, so I’m gonna answer both with one answer!

I’m fortunate in that I only have one real answer to this question that I’m comfortable publicly discussing (There are a few that came to mind that are private and not worth reviving some old drama) but one stands out as a particularly frustrating situation.

Subetei is a mercenary. He’s not an adventurer, he’s not a good person, he’s not a hero-for-hire type of character. For the right price, Subetei would do some very dirty, drastic things and would have no remorse for it, because it’s his job. He certainly prefers to do things that don’t get him arrested, but at the end of the day he takes the jobs make whatever actions he’s take worth the risk or hassle.

So once upon a time Subetei was part of a Mercenary FC that began to convert itself into an Adventuring company, which brought on a lot of changes in how the company would handle itself and what kind of jobs/etc people were allowed to take while part of it; This led to some sticky situations between Subetei and the rest of the company, because Subetei actively puts a hard line between himself and ‘adventuring’, which he sees as at best pro-bono work and at worst idealistic death wishes.

What was frustrating is that OOCly I had loved the FC and understood the direction they were taking, but I couldn’t make Subetei mesh with it without changing his character at least somewhat, which is something that bugs me when it’s done for an OOC reason. Ultimately, I decided to stick it out and make Subetei accept it.

Then things exploded and fell apart because of OOC reasons, and I’m much happier with Subetei’s current position which is at worst morally flexible, but until the FC broke down I was pretty unhappy with the situation.
