the dj hastened the pace of the song that was playing, setting everyone into a trance of utter recklesness when it came to movement. in soohyuk’s eyes, it was almost inhumane. that is definitely not dancing anymore. that is just a mere flailing of one’s head that could somehow lead to a head concussion, if done profusely and aimlessly.
amidst the chaos was an extremely calm soohyuk, using a rug to wipe over the counter each time even just a single drip of alcohol spilled onto the expanse of its top. he did so with a somewhat aggravated countenance, letting huffs of frustration escape his lips that was slightly agape for quite a time now. it was unrulier that the usual nights, everybody haphazardly bouncing to the beat of the music, already losing their fight with alcohol. he was sure that most, if not all, were in a state of over intoxication.
nobody had been paying much attention to the bar— even his coworker and boss were off and exchanging flirtatious retorts with a bunch of obviously tipsy females— so soohyuk was pretty much just there, watching every single tick of his wristwatch as if doing so would make its movement faster.
his presumption of no one else moving over to get a drink from the bar, though, was killed when a lady walked over and stood by the counter. she seemed different than the rest, though; her eyes had this visible glint of blatant curiosity, and it seems that she hasn't even had a drip of alcohol in her system. he blinked his eyes hard once, raking his stare away from her and finally snapping out of his trance, leaning over to grab a glass and eventually sliding a clean rug along and in it, then instinctively side shuffling over to be in front of her.
"W-what will you be having?" he inquired, having to move closer to her in order for her to hear his baritone of a voice in the thick of the music booming explosively from the speakers that surround them. he only presumed that she will be having a drink, since she was eyeing the colorful display of alcohol bottles that were contained in the cupboard that hung up at the wall behind him. he looked at her expectantly, a brow of his impulsively raising for a brief moment while he pulled back, idly continuing to sanitize that glass he had at hand.
