it comes as no surprise to sumin that she isn’t a very good dancer. she’s well aware of this, and she knows that while she’s someone who’s fairly confident in singing ... her dancing isn’t just quite as cut out as it should be. dancing doesn’t come naturally to her, and she struggles quite a bit even with remembering the most basic of steps.

so she’s half ready for the scolding that comes her way when she’s unable to pull off the choreography during training. still, it doesn’t stop her heart from breaking when she’s told off like that, even if she tries her hardest to take the constructive criticism in stride. still, even if she’s hurt by the rightful scolding, she knows she has to make an effort to try her best.

which is exactly why she’d come to training a little earlier than usual, just to at the very least try and master the basics. it’s then when sumin spots her, and her throat goes a little dry. she’s well aware of the fact that yuxi is a great dancer, and that if she wants to do better, one of the best ways is to approach yuxi for help. but truth be told, sumin’s always been a little scared about approaching the older girl. yuxi had always seem to have this aura around her, and for some reason, whilst sumin found the aura extraordinarily cool, she was always a little too overwhelmed by it. she swallows hard, and bites on her lower lip. would yuxi help her though? no! sumin had no time to think about that! she had to at least try! she gives her cheek a tiny slap and slowly, she approaches the girl, heart thumping loud against her chest.

“y...yuxi!” she says, finally approaching the girl. her cheeks feel a little red, and she’s not sure if the older girl can hear the way her heart is beating rapidly as she speaks. “i’m sorry to bother you! i was just uhm... you’re a really good dancer... and i was wondering if you’d mind helping me...” she realizes that as she speaks, her voice gets a little softer, but sumin is determined to not get scolded by the instructor today! “ ... a little,” she adds as good measure.

I'm writing a character who has major issues with fire, (because his little brother was burnt alive by humans.) What would happen to him if he started freaking out?

It really depends - panic attacks due to trauma can manifest in a number of ways. Personally, as someone who dealt with burn trauma myself in the form of boiling water, I tend to be overprotective of others and overcareful myself around it. E.G. I’ll be very slow and warn my roommate to be careful like 5 times when straining a pot of spaghetti. I act like I’m handling a live bomb.But yeah, that’s just me. It varies. Any followers who have dealt with PTSD wanna chime in and offer OP some examples?

Books for Getting Started Writing

I’ve gotten a LOT of asks and problem submissions this month pertaining to having trouble getting started writing, so here are some books I’ve personally found helpful:

Writer’s Market - An up-to-date listing of details about potential markets to submit your work. (This one is for articles, but WD also offers guides for poetry, general fiction, and children’s publications.) A lot of people tend to look at writer’s markets and think “Oh, this is what I crack open after I’ve written a bunch of articles to sell them” but not looking at markets until after you’ve completed an article is doing yourself a huge disservice; if you target a specific magazine up front, you can have a better idea what your angle and audience is going in. You may even be able to get a deal just from a query and get specifics like word count nailed down before you even start your first draft.

A Writing Prompt Book - Prompt books are really helpful when “warming up” because you can flex your creative muscles in a low-stakes way. My favorite prompt book is “Take Ten” which also adds a time limit so you can get out those first ugly words for your session quickly.

A Writing Magazine Subscription - Not only is a magazine like The Writer or Writer’s Digest full of useful information, contest details, prompts, etc, but it’s a monthly reminder in your inbox of your dedication to this craft.

Stories/Essays you Love - None of the above is going to help if you let yourself forget why you want to write in the first place.If you’re burnt out, consider taking a day off to revisit your favorite book, film, essay collection, or whatever is in your genre that inspires you.

I keep trying to write but I feel like I can never write enough. I get through the plot points I want to but it feels like I didn't write enough, help?

I mean, what do you mean? Do you feel like your story doesn’t have a high enough word count or do you just feel like you’re not putting enough effort into getting the results you get? If it’s the first, draft and expand. Get those plot points out then go back and add detail. If it’s the second, remember you’re not getting paid/comments/whatever the goal of your writing is because of writing every day or a certain number of words. Results are all that matter in this business and everyone has their own set of writing habits.

Got permanent problems to work in writing a bestseller. Have too many problems and worries and unfullfilled life desires and everything so I just cant sit down to get the writing style I know I have. Want to leave it in a paper in the right way. Have to rewrite all day someone tell me what to do

There’s your problem. Life is never going to be perfect, and you’ll never be in that fabled perfect zen writing state that makes your first draft perfect. You’ll always have problems and so will your drafts. Write anyway.

“A very giving wizard?”  The witch questioned, a brow cocking up to her hair line.  The look upon her face questioned his every word.  And even though she knew she should keep her tongue still, she thought against her better judgement as her tongue taunted him.  “If you are, as you say very giving, then why haven’t you been with anyone.  Surely my presence isn’t deterring you from night time activities such as that.”

She glanced around the quiet corridor noticing that they were indeed still alone.  Quickly catching up to him, she leaned slightly forward and smirked mischievously up at his towering figure.  “We do spend quite a lot of time with one another, seeing how we’ve been gathering ingredients these several nights, brewing potions and going over different books you have assigned for me to read.  So I feel that we are on familiar level and I for one have to say you don’t seem to be very giving.  After all you make my head run in circles with your words and actions.  Perhaps you may need to prove to me that you are.”

Hermione couldn’t help giving him a challenging look then striding a little quicker to the Great Hall and away from the possible boiling rage she might have given him.  If this had been a couple months or a year ago she wouldn’t have said what she had said to him.  But now...well she felt they were close as friends as possible as it can be.  So losing fifty points from Gryffindor was well worth teasing him.

im getting really tired of this homophobic douche at school and im about to beat him up because i just cant take his general comments anymore (and the fact that absolutely no one reacts, not even the teachers). I dont know what to do and if i should do it but he makes me really feel like garbage, and also kinda reminds me of everything wrong about this world. Any advices? (kuzuryuu if it's ok..?) ..(thanks..!)

Hey I know you're pretty pissed, but beating him up won't solve anything. Believe me this shit pisses me off too, but beating up that douche will probably get you a one-way ticket to suspension.

If it really makes you feel that bad you shouldn't hesitate to notify a teacher. Teachers often don't get involved unless they feel like something is wrong, and if no one speaks out about this asshole's comments then your teachers will be none the wiser about your problems.

If the teacher still refuses to do anything, you should try and tell an administrator, a counselor, or a parent. Under no circumstance should you ever try and handle this physically. 

If that asshole still bothers you just tell him upfront that you won't take his shit and that he should watch his mouth. Just keep in mind that you need to do this in a manner that gets your point across but doesn't call for any physical altercations.

Also you shouldn't lose faith in humanity because of one dunderhead. The world is full of people some good some bad. Just remember things do and will get better.
