Heyy so I am just starting to get into nu'est and from what i understand minhyun is now part of wanna one. But everywhere i see people saying 'once minhyun returns...' but how does that work? Cause i suppose you can't just leave a group

This might sound a bit complicated, so I’m breaking it down into different segments. Hope you don’t mind me publishing it since some others might have the same query.

1. Minhyun debuted in NU’EST and is still a NU’EST member. Due to his responsibilities after being picked as a Wanna One member from the survival show, Produce 101 Season 2, Minhyun is currently on hiatus in NU’EST - this means he is not involved in the musical releases, nor is he promoting under the name of a NU’EST member during this time period. In relative, the 4 remaining members brand themselves as NU’EST W, essentially a subunit with altered musical styles to suit their vocals, image and holds the meaning from ‘waiting’, both waiting for Minhyun’s return and to return the love for waiting fans.

2. Wanna One is a special group formed by voting in Korea through survival show, Produce 101. This project group will lasts till 2019 January (as it seemed from the latest update). During the time from its formation (June 2017), to the end of the contract, all members are to focus fully as Wanna One. This includes Minhyun and Sungwoon, both who debuted with NU’EST and HOTSHOT respectively, as well as trainees from different agencies. Wanna One is then managed fully by a separate agency YMC, even if the individual members are also contracted under their respective agencies such as Pledis, BNM, Cube and more. 

The idea is that Wanna One is made to be a nation’s group, voted by the nation, formed by the best of the best across different agencies in Korea, and is no different from season 1′s very own, I.O.I. 

Once the contract for Wanna One’s activities cease in January, the members are expected to return to their respective companies to prepare for their re-debut in a permanent group, or return to their original group. 

In short, both NU’EST and Wanna One are Minhyun’s affiliated groups. One is his original and permanent contract (NU’EST), one is a special opportunity and project group (Wanna One).

It’s from 160327 SBS Inkigayo - Overcome final stage! You might not be able to see it because of SBS’ geo-restrictions on their Youtube videos, but attached is a Vimeo alternative. You’d need to search on google with the dates of their performances for faster results!^^

where is the pledis dorm?

Hi,

We have no idea, and that’s for the best, anon!^^ The dorms are a place where artistes go to rest, and should remain a safe haven. In fact, it is also prohibited for fans to visit their dorms. We get that fans get excited seeing their bias or have the desire to get up close and personal, but respecting private space is even more important to retain a healthy relationship between an idol and their fans.

If you were wondering how their dorms looked like, we have no idea as well. The boys did say they switched to a bigger dorm; hopefully they’ll share a peek of it in future episodes of L.O.V.E Record to satisfy our curiosities!:)

has the nu'est dorm ever been revealed?

Their old dorms could be seen in really old reality shows such as Making of a Star, and then they shifted to another one which was shown in 2013 MTV Diaries, but it was said that they’ve moved to a new spot back in 2016/2017 and that was not revealed. Their Japanese dorms had a special reveal episode featuring ‘host’ Minhyun where they stayed for 3-6 months.

This is a common question that popped up during the boys’ fansigns late last year, and it’s said that all 4 NU’EST W members have their individual rooms (mentioned by both JR and Ren). Previously, JR and Ren shared a room, as the other 3 members have their individual rooms.

Okay, I just started getting into nu'est so are there any important interviews or performances that I should know about? I always feel like I'm missing something😪

Welcome to the L.O.V.E fandom! There’s quite a bit of things and yet not a lot considering their 6 year history, so I’d just list some of the things that you might be interested in checking them out.

First of all, there’s a documentary and beginner’s guide to NU’EST made by a fan (YT: Lay Naran) it’s 46 minutes long but worth the time to check out. Next, I would go through all of NU’EST’s Vapp because there’s a lot of finer details in there as well as performances, and they come subbed. Group Vapps shows their group dynamics a lot, and solo-vapps allow you to learn about the individual members and their preferences + stories.

Clips that I think are absolutely important while being tear-jerking, is the Parents Letter, JR’s Letter to Members, and Re:Birth Comeback Spoiler (& Part 2). The Comeback Spoiler is probably one of the lesser known clips but it’s definitely where you can see how the boys wishes to perform on stage. Baekho also briefly mentioned his worries over his throat situation there prior to the actual announcement of his decision to undergo vocal-node removal surgery later that year.

Performances-wise, 1theK has their premiere showcases: NU’EST 1st Mini Con, Sleep Talking, Good Bye Bye, and OVERCOME.

Here are some subbing channels to start for all sorts of videos too: ☆Rainb0wMiLLi☆ / thenuestsubs / NUESTAIWAN (mostly Mandarin but a couple in English) /ᄂᄋᄉᄐTIME SUBS TEAM

Beloved admins, I've just seen that nu'est published in his fancafe that they are having a fansign for this comeback. Could you please provide us with the info? Thank you so much in advance, you're the best ♡

Yes, NU’EST will be having their first fansign on the 12th in the evening, and the albums could be purchased online on the Yes24 (since the physical album is not out yet, so the only way to purchase is via online on their given link). Apparently, you will have to email the site after purchase of the albums with receipt so that they can add to the ballot and pull out the winner’s list by 10th. 

Due to the fancafe rules of ‘note bringing anything out of the fancafe’, we’re truly not sure how much we can say about it to not get into trouble. We’ve put out the link as it is actually accessible via their homepage. Sorry we can’t do more! ;;

Hey just wondering, why does NU'EST always give a 'ugh' reaction when people asl them to dance to Sleep Talking? Like I can hear the inner sigh when they read a comment about Sleep Talking lol was it a bad era for them?

It’s possibly due to their arguably-outlandish styling during that era, which actually spurred a couple of highly-voted pann posts during Produce 101. You can read some of it here and here - while other songs were mentioned, the one that got the most attention with questionable styling was actually Sleep Talking. Ren also mentioned it briefly in his last solo V-app recounting a conversation with Jisung, who liked the song but hesitated on talking about the styling (all in good-natured conversation, of course!).

The boys also seem to follow up with trending posts on instiz so it’s highly likely that all of them have seen the posts on what was viewed as a ‘dark past’ by netizens.
