Like re: my last reblog I just can't separate my nonbinaryness from the misogyny I've experienced in my life; how to this day I feel the pressure of knowing my body is a poker chip in a game I never consented to be in, that being the pressure to have children regardless of my absolute horror at the thought; the fact that my body and presentation have always been policed more than my cis male peers, that I had to work harder against my will to look attractive. That looking attractive, as I was told from a very young age, was imperative for me to be taken seriously 'as a woman'. That I am in a state that stripped abortion rights from me as soon as I could, that I need to misgender myself to be taken seriously at all.
Obviously not all of this is particular to afab nb people or even afab trans people. But I have always felt the misogynistic pressure of becoming a Wife and a Mother and to be subservient to my husband because those are the expectations I was raised with, and I can't simply shrug off those expectations on my body simply because I know myself to not be a woman.
