Despite the rocky beginning, Michele had settled in to her role as head of security fairly well. There were still moments when she felt like her team didn’t respect her, but they were fairly few and far between. A few people had even come to truly appreciate her, and that was a nice change of pace. Having a closed door meeting with an employee wasn’t a regular occurrence, but what James needed to discuss was personal, and not necessary for anyone else to hear. She was helping him arrange time off to care for his elderly parents. Throw in the fact that his wife was what seemed like 15 months pregnant, and the man was having a minor meltdown. That was why she’d called him into her office and shut the door behind him.
