Ayato Sakamaki;
lpa: relationships so far
Here is May's point of view on a couple of people who have really stood out to her as of late. I thought it might be nice to point out her opinions thus far, just to kind of solidify in my own mind what they were like at this point in time.
Ash:
Ash and May, of course, met when he messed up her bike in the beginning of the semester. After that point, it seemed like they kept running into each other and eventually became pretty close friends. May felt like she could confide a lot in Ash, and that his determination in everything he did was really inspiring. Plus he was really fun to hang out with, sharing a similar fondness for adventure and such. All in all, he really became one of her best friends at the school.
Over time, she couldn't help but to develop a minor crush on him, and eventually acted upon those feelings by sucking it up and just asking him to the dance. Unfortunately for her, Ash's heart belonged to another (who also happened to be male). Too scatterbrained to think of this confession as anything more than a "I don't like you that way," May found herself completely embarrassed. As of late, they've been fairly awkward around each other, but will probably make up and go back to normal soon enough because they're best friends through-and-though~
Wes:
She really admires his intelligence, wishing she could just steal a bit of it for herself. She actually was quite interested in him when they first met, finding a handsome, smart, senior guy from a distant region and owns a motorcycle to be more than interesting. Plus, he was really helpful with her homework, which she really appreciated a lot. However, the more she seemed to try and connect with him, the less she felt like they did. His personality seemed to change around her, maybe becoming a little too sweet or timid at times, thus making him seem a little less cool than he was initially to her. May still sees him as a great friend, and maybe if the situation changed a bit, she'd consider him as more. In addition, they don't have any classes together, which makes contact with each other restricted to randomly running into each other during breaks in the day, or planned meet ups. In other words, unfortunately enough, Wes is stuck in the friend zone for now.
Gold:
They haven't known each other for long, but May's definitely got her eye on him in some ways. They first met during May's little squabble with manga!Silver, him coming over and directing Silver away from threatening her further, but it was never a formal meeting. The next time they met was actually at the beach. After the night at the theater, they both decided to stray away from the pack (separately) and spend some time on the beach. They ran into each other, and after a moment of realizing that they went to the same school, finally formally introduced. They talked a bit, looked for seashells, found a magic conch, went swimming in their undergarments, and dashed back out of the water when they realized it might be wailmer mating season. Ultimately, it was a fairly intimate and exciting night, and because of it, she can't help but to find herself curious and interested in knowing more about him.
Even at the Maid Cafe, though his fight was extremely uncomfortable and nerve-wracking for her to watch, she found herself going over to him and trying to help him out a bit to feed her curiosity. All in all, May really likes talking with Gold and thinks he's exciting to be around, but hasn't quite figured him out yet either. She likes how she feels comfortable in teasing and flirting with him (which has never been one of her strong points otherwise), and is strangely intrigued by his bad-boy ways.
Hikari:
I'm laughing that she's the only girl on this list, as it seems like May really is a tomboy, just like I intended her to be.
Anyway, May and Hikari are pretty close. Because of May's massive amount of male friends, Hikari has become her outlet for any femininity. They do a lot together, but May hasn't really opened up to her a whole lot yet. I imagine she'll do so more as soon as they get more interaction in general.
Dia:
May really likes Dia!!! She thinks he's sweet and fun to talk to, and wishes that they could talk more since they have so much in common. However, it seems as if he's got a lot of other things on his mind, so she generally tries not to bother him a whole lot. May hears a few things about him through Ash, and talks to him at lunch time, but overall hasn't gotten close with him yet. She definitely considers him a friend though.
Manga!Silver:
He's the most frustrating person on the planet for May. She merely wanted to be his friend, but she always finds herself at the mercy of his insults. Strangely enough, she still doesn't see him as a completely awful person.
