Konan paused, producing a discreet card from her person and sliding it down the sensor beside the door, before she pushed it open to show a plush room - all dark wooden and leather furniture with a large desk dominating the space.
“Yes, in a sense. I know you were expecting to be liaising with my colleague but I will be taking your interview this afternoon.”
She indicated to the chairs with a casual hand, taking a moment to look him over. Smoothing down her navy blouse, she sat with a clipboard in front of her, legs folded demurely. The height of her needle thin stilettos seemed incongruous with the rest of her neat, buttoned down appearance.
“We are very pleased you decided to come to this interview, Itachi. And more than a little surprised. Would you care to elaborate why you are considering the company?”
Ah.
That had been a bit unexpected, but not so much that it reflected visibly on his features. Nodding a word of thanks, Itachi respectfully waited for the woman to step into the lounge first, before doing the same. He had long learned that delivering a good impression during an interview was vital in securing a job.
“Thank you,” he said once more, as he settled in the indicated seat, calm despite the company he was applying for. He had never really been one to lose his composure. “Really, I’m grateful for the opportunity to speak here; GloTech’s rapid growth in the technology sector is something that has piqued my interest, and I do wish to be a part of it.
“Therefore when the position became available, I had to apply.” Daunting as most would have found it at his age. Taking on the role of sales operation manager of the entire country of Japan was a hefty one. “I have several years of experience in managing, and the idea of advancing towards a more challenging task seems to be a natural step to take. It would be intriguing to learn more and see how I’ll be able to contribute to the firm.”
