The Landscaper | The Mayor | The Museum Aide
Joke’s on you, Pietro: Simon genuinely likes your house a lot! After all, it’s very You. I find it funny how much Pietro kept on talking up his house to Simon, trying to impress him and stuff—only to admit at the end of the visit that he doesn’t think his place is all that great. At the same, it’s kinda sad! Does he think that way because a bunch of other people think it’s too much? (The first time Aiden walked in, he immediately walked out without saying a word...) Or does he really think that for himself? Either way, at least someone likes this trippy carnival of a home!
Simon is the town’s landscaper, and boy, has he come a long way from when he first arrived in Verastra! He was used to wandering from town to town, homeless, facing a lot of adversity and the occasional bit of kindness. When he first came here, he only had the shirt on his back and the shoes on his feet, and was just hoping to have a place to sleep for a few days before continuing on elsewhere. Although Tom Nook gave him a tent, his quick talk about money scared him off and he has become more than satisfied with this small space. Mayor Arden eventually found him camping, and along with the villagers, have helped him become comfortable, from donating clothes and furniture, to giving him tips on making bells. (He pretty much wore anything and everything, just grateful for anything anyone would give him! Same with the furniture, haha—he had a fruit-theme going on for a while!) Now, he maintains the town’s landscaping, and is recently working on setting up a floral shop in the museum’s second floor! When he’s not gardening, he’s playing Puzzle League. His best friend is Pietro, whom resonated with him about struggling to fit in with others.
