She can't believe he's been keeping this from her. Can't believe they all have been.
She leaves town for an undercover mission for, what? A couple months? And it is like everyone has something to hide. Bobbi noticed nearly as soon as she came back, the way Natasha avoided her, the way Fury held himself when she was around.
They were all hiding something from her and there was one person in the world that she could easily pressure into telling her what it was. Someone who could endure torture of all kinds without revealing a single piece of information, but couldn't help but break when it came to her.
After all, he owed it to her after the divorce, and Bobbi wasn't above pointing that out to find out what the hell was going on.
Clint says technically before he says "He's our son." and he says but right after, but Bobbi ignores both conjunctions in favor of that middle part. He's our son. Her sweet boy gone too soon, before she could even show him how much she loved him, how wanted and csred for he had been despite the premature end he met. He's our son, and he's alive. A teenager from another universe, or a distant future– she really wasn't paying attention when Clint explained. But that doesn't change the fact that the boy she saw on TV is her son.
Bobbi pushes past Clint, ignores his attempts at making her listen to reason— though he's not really trying all that hard, even Clint knows better than to try to physically stop her and all things considered, he's only calling out after her so he can claim that he DID try to stop her.
She spots the telltale silver blond hair before anything else. His back is turned.
It took them so long to agree on a name, so many nights of debating, bargaining, arguing about what names would get him bullied and what names would get him girls —or boys, if he takes after his mom; or both, if he takes after his dad—, which was something both Clint and Bobbi agreed was important. Until, finally, they'd come up with a single name that they agreed was the only logical option.
Bobbi doubts their alternate selves are much different.
"Francis Barton!" she calls out to him.
