THREE MONTHS ago Tressa would have never allowed herself to even dream of the possibility of escaping the castle she had been brought up in. Once, when her mother was alive and well it had been a happy place but over the years that had deteriorated just like everything else. Living in the ruins of what had once been a great kingdom was enough to break anyone’s heart but what had been worse was the fact that her father, the King, had almost cost her everything. The young Princess couldn’t have thanked the Gods enough for the fact that the Prince’s father had decided to approve the engagement - now, all she had to do was to make sure her father didn’t ruin the entire thing. The dark haired female had taken great care with her appearance that day and had spent weeks before that preparing for a visit from the King and his son, Lucas. The seamstress had been specially instructed and now, standing before a foot-long mirror in a beautiful gown Tressa was almost beside herself with excitement, perhaps escape really was possible. Black curls cascading down her back and decorated with fine jewels, the Princess took one more look at herself, analyzing her own appearance, before withdrawing and heading to the servants quarters to make sure that everything was as it should be.
