a common phrase spoken to the CRESTFALLEN souls that wandered this earth , but no matter how hard she tried to persist through months of aching , she just couldn’t. there was something tying her down , preventing smiles from blossoming onto plump lips and withholding her from finding joy in moments that were designed to be blissful. the something was a someone though , and that someone was GONE from her life. he erased the traces of himself , left her in a scattered mess of wants , needs and broken dreams. his promises were cluttering her mind with her own thoughts of ‘ what did i do wrong? ’ filling in the gaps. broken frames held pictures of happier times ; she used to wear a smile on her facade , a laugh was always bubbling in her throat , too. she even had a neighbor COMPLAIN about her enthusiasm for her life and her lover , but now she felt empty. her life had left her.
the silence of her apartment was eerie , to say the least. she missed talking in the midnight hours , mapping out a future from wishes. showering was a COMFORT though ; it felt cleansing , like it washed away the hurt temporarily. the sound of HOT WATER blocks the sound of knocks on the door. once she’s out , fingers curl into her towel , her other hand brushing wet , blonde locks into a messy bun before she throws on a long , grey sweater. the beat of her heart skips a bit. hope DWELLS inside far too much for her liking as she makes her way through her living room. she reaches for the knob , twisting , heart pounding , then head peeking through the small slit she makes from opening the door.
