"Can you please remind me why you even want my help, rabbit?"

There's no response at first. Just the faint glance upwards of eyes from said cookbook in his grasp. He's no fool. Daffy near a stove was a disaster waiting to happen. If anything it should be in the list of kitchen etiquette people have. 'Thou shalt not let Daffy Duck in the kitchen.' But when has Bugs ever cared remotely about what's proper? Quite frankly the funniest things tended to happen when you let the duck loose anywhere.
“Cause yer a--” a pause as the words ‘greedy duck who loves taking the credit’ briefly flashes through his mind, “--highly motivated individual and dis pie baking t’ing I got roped into is a team competition. So... I assumed youse may want to help me win de prize.” The page casually flips as his eyes turn downwards and away from the feathered figure standing nearby. “Course if youse ain’t interested I guess I can find someone else. Youse are a bit of a disaster near de stove.”
lgc sports festival: fan encounter
417 words | + 3 variety, +3 notoriety
yongbin knew that in the scheme of things, he wasn’t the most popular or well-known of the trainees. sometimes it worked his favour, especially at events like the sports festival where all eyes were on them - he blended into the background, at least that’s how he felt. so, it’s surprising to him when he seems a fan standing near him. the girl looks even more nervous than he does, which he notes is a feat in itself, as she takes a step forward, hands clutching onto the notepad and pen as if they were a lifeline.
it was weird. yongbin couldn’t wrap his head around the concept that surely someone would be nervous to meet him when there were so many more talented and far more impressive trainees attending the sports festival too. it took a moment to realise that he had been lost in his thoughts, simply staring at the girl who was looking more and more uneasy by the second. well done, yongbin, he sighed internally before shaking all these thoughts away, offering the girl a polite smile. This had clearly gave the girl the push she needed to approach him properly, hands gingerly holding out the notepad and pen towards him.
“yongbin-ssi, is it possible to get your autograph?” she begins. yongbin nods, offering a quiet ‘of course’, taking the items from her and making a move to uncap the pen and sign before she speaks once again. “it’s just, you’re my favourite out of all the trainees… everyone knows that you aren’t the loudest and you seem a bit shy, but i hope you know that we love you regardless… at least i do, anyway. you’re really special, yongbin-ssi.”
and ah, yongbin thinks to himself, it must be moments like these that the seniors always talk about when they say that all the hardships and struggles they go through when training ultimately end up being worth it. even if it weren’t to reflect the views of the rest of the fans, just knowing that there was one person who was out there supporting yongbin meant more to him than he could ever express.
“thank you so much for your support, it makes me so happy, seriously… by the way, what’s your name?” he replies, speaking softly as he signs his name down on the paper, adding a smiley face and a heart next to the girl’s name that he had jotted down for good measure.
