Character’s full name: Vivienne Madden Reason or meaning of name: The name ‘Vivienne’ is of French origin, and means, quite simply, ‘life’ or ‘alive’. ‘Madden’ is an Anglicised version of an Irish family name, which essentially translates to ‘hound’. Character’s nickname: Vi, Vivi, Little Bird if you just happen to be Chris Reason for nickname: They’re a hell of a lot quicker to say Birth date: 16th April 1993

Age: 22, almost 23 How old does he/she appear: Roughly her age, give or take a couple of years depending on how she chooses to present herself (clothing, makeup, etcetera). Weight: around 120lbs Height: 5’4 Physical build: Petite and small-bond , with a slim build Shape of face: heart-shaped with gently sloping angles Eye color: a light, blueish grey Glasses or contacts: Poor eyesight runs in the family; she tends to wear contacts Skin tone: Relatively pale; you’re typical ‘English Rose’ Distinguishing marks: She possesses an abundance of freckles Hair color: somewhere on the spectrum between ‘strawberry blonde’ and ‘ginger’ Type of hair: Depending on the weather, it varies between being beautifully curly and uncontrollably frizzy... Admittedly, the latter is more common. Occasionally she’ll straighten it to avoid the fuss. Hairstyle: Relatively long, falling just below her shoulder-blades Voice: Due to her predominantly Irish upbringing (southern Ireland), she speaks with a light, lilting Dublin accent. Usual fashion of dress: Again, it varies. She’ll often be found lazing in a hoody and leggings, being incapable of caring for any stylistic choices that require too much effort. However, on occasion she’ll make a little more of an effort,and with opt for a style best described as Parisienne; polo-necks or neat blouses/shirts with high-waisted shorts or skirts. You get the idea. Favorite outfit: Either the aforementioned leggings/hoody combo; or the luxurious cocktail dresses that she allows herself to indulge in on particular occasions. Jewelry or accessories: Nothing too overstated. Her ears are both pierced just the once; however she also has a navel piercing.

Positive personality traits:

She has an active, analytical and inquisitive mind, and once a certain topic or individual has caught her interest, she won’t often lose focus in a hurry.

She’s intensely determined; once she sets her mind upon achieving something or proving something, it’s damnably difficult to dissuade her, regardless of how logical your argument may be.

Highly observant both of her surroundings and of other people; this in turn means that she can be incredibly perceptive of how others are feeling. However, this rarely translates into compassion unless they are an individual of significance to her.

She has a quick wit and a sharp, often acerbic sense of humour. This, of course, can be quite the double-edged sword, as not everyone appreciates her biting sarcasm.

Negative personality traits:

She can be quick to judge and form a negative opinion of an individual based on very little information, or to reform her opinion of them due to the slightest hint of betrayal; however she’s slow to forgive, regardless of how seemingly insignificant the offense might have been.

The flip-side to her determination is that she is essentially bloody-minded and highly stubborn, hating to feel as if she’s on the losing side of any debate.

Finds it difficult to connect to people, primarily because of her long-standing habit of remaining detached and keeping individuals at arm’s length. This often comes back to bite her in the backside, as on several occasions she’s driven away people whom she’d really have rather stayed close. And, of course, each time that she manages to do so, she convinces herself that it’s proof that they never really wanted to have anything to do with her in the first place.

Because their fuck-ups had one hell of a domino effect throughout her life. Character’s soft spot: PUPPIES. Including Chris. Is this soft spot obvious to others? The former? Hell yes. The latter? She tries to hide it, but it’s becoming increasingly difficult to do so. Greatest strength: Her willpower and resilience. Greatest vulnerability or weakness: Her inability to drop her walls even when in the company of people who would never dream of doing her harm. Biggest regret: “What’s the bloody point of doing something if you’re only going to let it haunt you for the rest of your life anyway?” Minor regret: see above Biggest accomplishment:  She’s most proud of achieving her degree. Past failures he/she would be embarrassed to have people know about: She’d never admit to being embarrassed about anything in her past, but there’s plenty there. Why? She’s done what she had to do in order to get by and remain vaguely sane. However, she’s not entirely proud of every decision that she’s taken. Character’s darkest secret: “Well, it wouldn’t be a secret then, would it?” Does anyone else know?  Not the whole truth.

-- P A S T -- Hometown: She was originally born in London, however following the separation of her parents, both she and her elder brother moved with their mother to Dublin, Ireland. Type of childhood: Chaotic Pets: She had none during her childhood First memory: Her father playing with her when she was a toddler Most important childhood memory: A heated argument between her parents briefly before they split. Why: It was the first time that she was aware - albeit in the vaguest of senses - of the trouble within her family. In a way, it was the blueprint for everything that followed. Childhood hero: She adored her father when she was very young, before the separation. Following that, Cameron most certainly took his place at the top of her (rather short) list of ‘favourite people’. Dream job: whatever daddy did for a living Education: Haphazard, she was often moved from one school to the next due to misconduct. Religion: Her mother’s family were strictly Catholic, and she was schooled most significantly in a Catholic boarding school for girls. Finances: Upper-middle class; but very reserved and measured in how they lived.

-- C U R R E N T -- Current location: London, UK Currently living with: Dr Alexia Hadaway Pets: A Rhodesian Ridgeback called Reg (Reginald) and a Weimaraner called Tinu. Religion: Agnostic. Occupation: Currently working as a Junior Barrister Finances: When independent? Fairly poor; however, though she’ll rarely draw on it aside from in extreme circumstances, her father has access to a substantial pot of money.

-- F A M I L Y -- Mother: Elizabeth O’Neil Relationship with her: Extremely poor. Vi was essentially an accident, and Eliza blames her in part for the disintegration of her first marriage. Following the separation of she and Felix, she was extremely depressed for the best part of a year and, too all intents and purposes, dissociated from her children, leaving Cameron to offer Vi all the comfort he was capable of giving. Following her steady recovery, their relationship was never truly repaired, and when Eliza married for a second time and her new husband’s gaze strayed to her teenage daughter, it was strained further. Vi to this day is not entirely sure whether he mother was aware of the full extent of her step-father’s ‘interest’ in her. Father: Felix Madden Relationship with him: As a young child, she adored him; he would bring her presents and sweets, and toss her in the air with a great laugh. But she feels very much that he essentially abandoned she and her brother once his relationship with their mother fell apart. Hence she treats him with disdain and mistrust, and has as little to do with him as possible. Siblings: Cameron Madden Relationship with them: They’re extremely close. He’s the one person who’s been reliable and constant throughout her life, and is probably the only person in the universe whom she honestly feel that she can trust. Spouse: Not quite spouse, but she’s growing rather too fond of Christopher Solomons; also known as ‘Phobos’ the Greek god of fear. Relationship with him/her: They essentially started as casual fuckbuddies; he’s an associate and friend of her father’s and, to be frank, it was her way of spiting Felix. But one thing lead to another, and... Well... Neither one of them would want to admit to being in a committed relationship; but similarly, each would most likely decapitate any partner other than themselves that they found the other with.
