STUDENT COUNCIL PUNISHMENT VOTE || Chapter 2 || Execution
MIYAMA MAYA HAS BEEN FOUND GUILTY; BEGINNING ‘EXECUTION’
Maya Miyama is sitting behind a familiar desk -- the one she used at her old school. In fact, the room she’s in looks just like that of the student council. She’s strapped to her chair, staring directly at the whiteboard. On it are several columns: Electrocution, Stabbing, Falling, Drowning. Standing in front of these words is King Bibbit, a menacing grin on his face. He holds a marker in his hand.
Over the loudspeaker a voice says, “Please vote now!”
Elevator music begins to play as the sound of a ticking clock gets louder. Bibbit waits patiently and finally a loud alarm goes off. It sounds like the end-of-school bell.
“The votes will now be tallied!” the voice says.
And that’s when Bibbit moves.
He spins around, hopping back and forth in front of the whiteboard. He makes marks under each column, tallying up votes. Maya watches as each column fills up. She gulps, knowing full well that they’re deciding her fate. These voters -- whomever they are -- are out for blood.
Bibbit speeds up. He’s now moving rapidly, marker flying across the board. The votes seem even, but who’s to say? Each column is covered in lines, nearly colored in completely.
“The votes are now in!” the voice booms. “It’s a tie! Commencing execution.”
Before Maya can react, electricity flows through her, the current coming from the chair. She screams, squeezing her eyes shut just as a knife pierces her back. The girl gasps, struggling. What did she do to deserve this?
She cries out again as the floor opens up beneath her. Still strapped to the chair, she’s along for the ride. She falls, her screams growing distant. And finally -- nothing.
Calm, serene even. The kingdom had been in a time of peace since the end of the last trial, kids rushing about to finish their quests in an attempt to get the game over and done with as soon as humanly possible. Including two particulars.
In the midst of the low hum of various machines running around the kingdom, loud, blood curdling screams could be heard. Ringing through the silence, alerting all inhabitants to what was happening, to the horror of yet more death.
Following the screams as they died down, stopping abruptly as silence once again overtook the land, revealed in the Lumberjacks a horrific display of blood and gore.
The two who had made the screams were none other than TamagoYuki and Mifune Koharu, the former of the two being stuck, upper body crushed under the large cylinder of pure white paper, their blood and various other substances coating not only the paper, but the floor as well. Small droplets cascading down to the ground over the cylinder, the only remaining part of their body still intact being their legs, dangling limp and lifeless. Still holding on for dear life to what remained of Tamago’s upper body.
Koharu, who’s body would be discovered further into the contraption known as the paper maker, hand hanging loosely out the side of the box containing the inner working of the machine, wrist dripping blood from the entrance, as if she had tried to reach out for help, only to be swallowed up by the metal monstrosity. Her body was in terrible shape, ripped to shreds and legs crushed.
The two kids had met their ends, luck not on their sides as they were destroyed by the machine.
Chapter 2 || Too Juicy not to Share || Motive Drop
The past week has been fairly quiet compared to the week leading up to the trial. With Hachinoko Honeya’s murder investigation and Koji Niji’s trial and imprisonment, the heroes of the land deserved a much needed break. Even if this downtime included quests that were mandated by the Frog, the Dog, and the other citizens of the kingdom.
A break is still a break, at least until the watches strapped on the students wrist began to give out a high pitch electronic screeching sound.
Instead of the usual announcement format of an annoying pop-up video of the Frog in his throne, a window opened up displaying The wavelength of King Bibbit’s voice and Text that popped up as he spoke.
“A-hem. Hello once again brave heroes! I assume you can hear me, if not then read the text for I have an important announcement to make. Of course it would be very improper for me to make such high priority announcement via an intercom, so come down to the castle’s main throne area immediately. Everyone must join in this gathering. This is your King speaking, see all you heroes in a few minutes, gero.”
The unclose-able pop-up finally dematerialized from the holographic watch, signaling the hero’s to begin their trek to the specified location. Once at the end of the red carpet and at the throne, they would be greeted with both mascots sitting on top of the ceremonial chair. Once the last student arrived, the Frog stood up and began to address the crowd before him.
“Welcome heroes! For a moment I thought we were missing two people but then I remembered their fates, which honestly is hard not to laugh at. None the less I must thank you for coming to this meeting I have arranged for us all, despite your lack of a choice. Before we get started I would like to start things off with a rhetorical question:
How are you quest’s going? I hope you are gathering points for your respective teams because the fate of this kingdom is in your hands. Gero.”
Before Bibbit could go any further in his monologue, he was seemingly interrupted by Chihue with a small huff that sounded closely to a ruff. Taking his queue to move on with the topic, the frog adjusted his crown and continued on to the meat and potatoes of the meeting.
“Anyway, down to business, I have important kingly matters to attend to anyway, gero. I would think that seeing what happened to your friend Honey would motivate you enough to murder each other and rack up points for your respective teams but I look outside the window everyday and see 28 of you living and breathing and it’s....”
Turning slightly away from the others, the king’s expression, like his voice, seemed to drop. He really did not sound happy at all.
“Such a disappointment...
It seems like you lofty heroes cant be bothered to save such a troubled land by doing your duties once again. That is why We would like to bring back little incentives to turn you peasants into Heroes. Well they are not little. But you get the point. We have to waste precious brain power to get everyone here off their butts. So you better appreciate and murder for what we have for you this chapter.”
He turned back to fully face the audience he forcibly amassed, his expression had softened back into a smile. With the clap of his webby hands, the students watches all flickered on to a blank screen that had the image of a lock over it.
“What you see on your watches is a screen that will, when this meeting is over and you are all dispersed, unlock and show the contents of the page.
What are the contents you ask? Well Its a secret!
Quite literally it will be one of your fellow hero’s secret that has been randomly given to you. Each and everyone will have the secret of one other hero, and no one knows who has their secret but the receiver will know who the secret belongs to.
There are no limits to what you do with this information, you can share it, sell, keep it or use it to blackmail another person. We don’t care, but some people may. You know, you really cant trust others with deep dark secrets that could even end your career and reputation if word got out.
Before I close everything off i would like to add that you will have access to this secret anytime after it is initially unlocked, you just need to tap onto the secrets tab and it will be there.
Well have fun sleeping tonight with the thought of someone knowing your deepest darkest unmentionables. Perhaps it would be best if you killed before word spread. Gero, gero. “
With that said, the frog took his seat next to chihue and signaled the students out. With everyone out and quite a distance away from each other that the watches detected that another person could not read the contents of what was about to be displayed, the holographic screens unlocked and revealed the secret each student was given.
CHAPTER 2 MOTIVE:
Uh oh! The student’s secrets have been discovered and given to one another. Will they be able to live with content that one person knows their dirty laundry and trust that they wont reveal it, or will one of them snap and kill whoever has their secret as to not let any dirty laundry get aired out?
With the murderer gone into the deep dark depths of who knows where the previous day, the students were called back to the ballroom that has transformed from the trial room. In his throne was Bibbit, the king stood up and began to clap. This clap was not a very happy clap, no it was a very condescending sort of clap. The frog did not seem happy.
“Gero gero! Wasn’t that a spectacular show yester day. Great job color theorist of the Carnivore Team, you have won your team a great deal of points. Hmph! As much as I love seeing people take innocent lives, this does not bode well for team Herbivore. I thought I chose some fine heroes to represent me but all they do is get together with the enemy and be civil. Civility, in a civil war? Preposterous! Anyway, You all are free to go.
Enjoy the start of chapter two.”
With a flip of his cape, Bibbit left the children behind in the ballroom in a subdued storm. Were was he to go? Well to lock himself in his room for such a defeating loss the previous day.
