Chapter 3 || Goodbye Miss President || Freetime begin!
“Gero Gero!
What a splendid way to send off a no good carnivore point gainer! Oh so totally not shady Class president did really well this round even attempting to drag down a love blind fool and an innocent aroma therapist. Bravo if she got away I would have been tempted to give her a seal of my approval. But she is rotting now in a cell were you guys dont know!
Anyway, Chapter 3 has started, now get out of my sight, the king has some kingly business to attend to.”
Admittedly at first, he thought the trip would turn out alright. The bus looked suitable. Not just some cheap, yellow bus that brought filth to and from their academic prisons. Then again, that assumption was quickly proven wrong. He wasn’t able to protest long before his vision faded and woke up with a massive headache. Then (as he liked to believe), the two robotic mascots went on their idiotic speeches. ( Talking animals weren’t real. )
“Someone is certainly getting a laugh out of this.”
He exhaled sharply, rubbing his temples in both annoyance and for his headache. Yes, he just witnessed a death but executions happened. Sure, in a less brutal, less theatrical way. He didn’t know the guy and even then, it was their ludicrous driver. As much as he didn’t want to be held responsible for it, he was. He highly doubted the man didn’t know that there was gas in the vehicle. Why did it take him so long to even notice?
“As much as I’d like everyone to drop dead, I don’t wish to get my hands dirty with such disgusting blood. Nor am I planning on wasting anymore time than necessary with fantastical plots and dramatic feuds.”
He folded his arms and glanced around the surroundings. He knew everything had a weakness, an Achilles hell, a loop hole. Just like every person, every place would have a weakness and if you poked at it long enough, it would crumble.
“If you wish to work under me, so be it. I’m going to find a way out of here.”
Before turning, he glanced at the “watch” on his wrist. He wanted to know how much they knew.
Chapter 2 || Too Juicy not to Share || Motive Drop
The past week has been fairly quiet compared to the week leading up to the trial. With Hachinoko Honeya’s murder investigation and Koji Niji’s trial and imprisonment, the heroes of the land deserved a much needed break. Even if this downtime included quests that were mandated by the Frog, the Dog, and the other citizens of the kingdom.
A break is still a break, at least until the watches strapped on the students wrist began to give out a high pitch electronic screeching sound.
Instead of the usual announcement format of an annoying pop-up video of the Frog in his throne, a window opened up displaying The wavelength of King Bibbit’s voice and Text that popped up as he spoke.
“A-hem. Hello once again brave heroes! I assume you can hear me, if not then read the text for I have an important announcement to make. Of course it would be very improper for me to make such high priority announcement via an intercom, so come down to the castle’s main throne area immediately. Everyone must join in this gathering. This is your King speaking, see all you heroes in a few minutes, gero.”
The unclose-able pop-up finally dematerialized from the holographic watch, signaling the hero’s to begin their trek to the specified location. Once at the end of the red carpet and at the throne, they would be greeted with both mascots sitting on top of the ceremonial chair. Once the last student arrived, the Frog stood up and began to address the crowd before him.
“Welcome heroes! For a moment I thought we were missing two people but then I remembered their fates, which honestly is hard not to laugh at. None the less I must thank you for coming to this meeting I have arranged for us all, despite your lack of a choice. Before we get started I would like to start things off with a rhetorical question:
How are you quest’s going? I hope you are gathering points for your respective teams because the fate of this kingdom is in your hands. Gero.”
Before Bibbit could go any further in his monologue, he was seemingly interrupted by Chihue with a small huff that sounded closely to a ruff. Taking his queue to move on with the topic, the frog adjusted his crown and continued on to the meat and potatoes of the meeting.
“Anyway, down to business, I have important kingly matters to attend to anyway, gero. I would think that seeing what happened to your friend Honey would motivate you enough to murder each other and rack up points for your respective teams but I look outside the window everyday and see 28 of you living and breathing and it’s....”
Turning slightly away from the others, the king’s expression, like his voice, seemed to drop. He really did not sound happy at all.
“Such a disappointment...
It seems like you lofty heroes cant be bothered to save such a troubled land by doing your duties once again. That is why We would like to bring back little incentives to turn you peasants into Heroes. Well they are not little. But you get the point. We have to waste precious brain power to get everyone here off their butts. So you better appreciate and murder for what we have for you this chapter.”
He turned back to fully face the audience he forcibly amassed, his expression had softened back into a smile. With the clap of his webby hands, the students watches all flickered on to a blank screen that had the image of a lock over it.
“What you see on your watches is a screen that will, when this meeting is over and you are all dispersed, unlock and show the contents of the page.
What are the contents you ask? Well Its a secret!
Quite literally it will be one of your fellow hero’s secret that has been randomly given to you. Each and everyone will have the secret of one other hero, and no one knows who has their secret but the receiver will know who the secret belongs to.
There are no limits to what you do with this information, you can share it, sell, keep it or use it to blackmail another person. We don’t care, but some people may. You know, you really cant trust others with deep dark secrets that could even end your career and reputation if word got out.
Before I close everything off i would like to add that you will have access to this secret anytime after it is initially unlocked, you just need to tap onto the secrets tab and it will be there.
Well have fun sleeping tonight with the thought of someone knowing your deepest darkest unmentionables. Perhaps it would be best if you killed before word spread. Gero, gero. “
With that said, the frog took his seat next to chihue and signaled the students out. With everyone out and quite a distance away from each other that the watches detected that another person could not read the contents of what was about to be displayed, the holographic screens unlocked and revealed the secret each student was given.
CHAPTER 2 MOTIVE:
Uh oh! The student’s secrets have been discovered and given to one another. Will they be able to live with content that one person knows their dirty laundry and trust that they wont reveal it, or will one of them snap and kill whoever has their secret as to not let any dirty laundry get aired out?
Its been a few days since the frog king has let the feral beast out of her dark cage, that span of time has also been the amount of days she has gone without a meal. Oh boy was she hungry. Trash and the taste of electric lamp posts could only fill a wolf up so much.
With the moon high in the sky, the time to hunt was now...
TW; Animal attack, Blood
In preparation to execute her plan, the beast knocked out all of the lights in the park and the streets surrounding it. Then laid in some bushes near the now dark main road, waiting for someone to pass by the street that lead up to the castle.
A few students passed in groups, none of them piquing the wolf’s interest. She did not know the strength of the kingdoms hero’s, nor would she want to have any back up coming to aid their fellow classmate and thus ruin her soon to be meal. Instead she let them all pass on by to where ever they were heading to. Listening to them mention the eerie darkness of that section of road and scurrying along.
The moon rose higher in the sky as the she beast waited for the perfect prey to come along, not to strong looking and alone. Never giving up for just like in her wild homeland, the best hunt is always rewarded when one is patient. Before long the person fitting her criteria had finally came to her trap.
A male that stood at about average human height, looked pretty weak, and best of all, his hair reminded her of the blood that would be spilled soon enough. If she recalled correctly, this male went by Shinobu Hibiki. Yes, he was the perfect midnight snack and he was only a few meters away.
Before she would loose him in the streetlights that slightly blinded her, the She beast leapt into action and approached Hibiki from behind at staggering speeds on all four of her limbs. Just as he turned around to see who was behind him, he was meet with a slash to his right shoulder from the beasts front monstrous claws, striking him to the ground.
Panicked, the screaming boy began to crawl away from his giant furry attacker. But alas, the Beast that roamed the streets would not let her meal escape. Approaching the injured boy, she chomped down on his left leg before he had the chance to get up, dragging him towards the park, blood dripping from his wounds leaving a trail.
But before she could bring him back into the safety of the bushes to enjoy her bounty, something in her neck let out an electric shock. Causing her to let go of her prey and yelp as she ran back into a nearby alleyway, tail between her legs. She watched as other hero’s began to go toward the source of the screams and saw as her potential meal was taken away.
At noon, a video Popped up on the students watches with none other than King Bibbit laughing on it. Oh what did he want now?
“Well isn’t this a knife way to start the day! Well looks like the she beast has motivated one of you to commit the heinous deed. Oh yes indeed! Well now begins to search for the killer. You guys have to investigate and try to find whoever killed the bee girl by asking questions and looking at the scene and maybe the kingdom. Oh but we wont tell.
For the time being you all have only a week to investigate before the trial arrives, this is where you must bring the pieces of the puzzle together and try to solve the murder.
Remember that if you choose the wrong murderer then they get away and bring 100 points to their team! Now go on to that southwestern corner of the kingdom and get moving!”
Chapter 1 || My What Big Teeth You Have || MOTIVE DROP
So far, the Heroes life in BeroBero Kingdom has been peaceful for most since the tragic and gruesome execution of the bus driver that brought them here. For those keeping track of the passing time, a week has passed since their arrival. For some students, they spent that time mindlessly meandering about, some did a bit of exploring and others ate a birthday cake not meant for them and made another one in hopes that the person the cake was for would forgive them for such a grievous crime.
It almost seems as if the student’s turned Heroes were living a peaceful life, except for a certain hero who has courageously cleared the park of the dreaded wasps using the power of a single can of spam.
That peace and quiet was soon broken by the none other than the sound of all the heroes watches ringing. After few short tones, an un-closable video began playing on their watches holographic screen featuring none other than the frog king and the dark wizard dog.
“Hello brave heroes, it is I King Bibbit, the true ruler of the land. That so called great wizard of a dog and I formally request your presence in front of the royal throne in the castle immediately. By request I mean it is mandatory that you be there for announcement that is about to be made. So don’t meander behind least you would want to find out what the punishment is for skipping out on one of your important duties, gero gero.”
With the frogs unnecessarily long pop up video finally over with, the Heroes began walking from places as close as the kitchen to as far away as the citizens houses on the other side of the kingdom. While some moved with haste, others walked with a casual indifference as if the announcement is simply an inconvenience interrupting what ever meaningless task they were doing before hand.
At the end of red carpet the students followed was the throne which the arrogant king sat on, and the great and evil wizard stood not so far from. The two mascots sat in silence as they await the arrival of the last student for this announcement was so very important that every single hero had to hear it.
With the last student in place, the frog stood up and began his speech with a slightly annoyed but still royal air about him.
“As everyone here knows, the past week since you have bravely step up to solve this conflict has been very...
Uneventful.
While some of you have been completing quests, they have been gathering points in minuscule amounts that will only prolong this conflict and keep me from being able to properly reign over the kingdom like I deserve to. It also keeps you from being able to leave this place if that matters to any of you.
In order to speed things along and get you guys to hopefully score 100 points chihue and I have come up with a plan.”
“Now before I get to the good part, let me give everyone a bit of exposition. While citizens of BeroBero Kingdom are nice and friendly, at least the herbivores are much more so than their carnivore counterparts, Our neighbors outside these walls and in the wilds are quite the opposite. Uncouth feral and quiet the trouble makers, and mostly carnivores which explains a lot.
If you care to look down at your watch you can see one of them.”
Just as Bibbit has said, the Heroes watches now displayed what seemed to be a live video of a cold and dark place, a constant low growl constantly emitting from the watches speakers. It seemed like there was nothing there until a pair of glowing red eyes appeared in front of the camera.
“Just the sound of that beastly wolf’s growl even scares me to my royal bones. That female wolf is currently in the dungeons and she is itching to get out. While she is trained to not attack most of the time, the unnamed beast can lash out if kept outside for too long. Especially around such young, fresh and less hairy meat. She will roam around the kingdom. Usually not attacking without I or chihue commanding her to do so, she may be provoked and injure one of you brave heroes.
If no one is murdered within the next week or so, then I shall command her to attack and kill every single one in the kingdom since you cannot do the jobs you were brought here to do.”
“Now go about your business and continue to try and rack up those points for your team and your kingdom’s future! Fret not, worrying about the potentially murdering beast that is now roaming the streets, remember look but don’t touch! Gero gero.”
Waving them off just as he has done on the heroes first day, Bibbit returned to observing the players from his comfy looking throne. Once the heroes are outside, they notice a massive wolf like creature as dark as the night sky with glowing rhinestone like eyes walk past the castle and into one of the nearby alleyways where there are fewer electric lamp posts then on the main roads.
Chapter 1 Motive:
A big bad wolf like creature now roams the streets of BeroBero Kingdom, striking fear into most who dare to near such dangerous beast. If a murder does not happen within the next couple of days then King Bibbit shall command the ghastly beast to kill every one in the kingdom.
