idk if i’ve ever made a post about Izuku’s ‘coil rope’ specifically so here it is;

-it’s 18ft long, 100lbs at first. By Izuku’s 4th set gear, he’s swapped out the materials so it’s 18ft long, 78lbs -it’s the ‘sash’ looking metal coil he keeps at his waist -Functionally, it can be used like Aizawa’s Capture Weapon but it is not as flexible and this is not it’s primary use. -It’s primary use is for mobility, spider-man style, which is why the focus is on it being durable and sturdy; rather than light weight and flexible. -Both ends have loops and hooks to connect to objects or even people so Izuku can use it to throw them, or himself, around. -Basically what i’m saying is imagine being a villain and this;

Since a I've talked a lot about Izuku’s support gear I feel it’s important to note that, as a support course student, he’s actually rather average. His stuff is well made, he puts a lot of effort in making sure that’s the case, but his designs aren’t all that original. He’s not really being innovative, which is the goal of support course students.

His first set of gear is literally just modified prototypes from Hisashi’s support company. And the other sets, while made by Izuku from scratch, are all rather basic equipment based on existing designs. The stuff he has modeled on his own, such as his specialty arrows are either based on his classmate’s quirks or again, existing technology. Even the concept behind the Bow Blade isn’t entirely original, and he had a lot of help from other support course students.

I do think Izuku is smart enough that if his goal was to become a support tech he could, but he’s no Hatsume Mei; either.

So I !!! commissioned the wonderful amazing fantastic @sappines for some references of Izuku using his Bow Blade, in particular his Super Move: Triple Threat. 

Izuku’s first supermove features the Bow Blade in it’s entirety. It’s aptly named ‘triple threat’ and starts with a blow from one of Izuku’s specialty arrows, giving him enough time to switch to the great blade, strike with that, and then deal a final blow with the dual blades. (long range -> mid range -> close range).

Because it came up, here’s a comprehensive guide to the physical differences between my portrayal and canon Izuku;

-A couple inches shorter, due to remaining quirkless (more about my height headcanon here)

-dark circles under his eyes, slightly slumped posture, generally disheveled clothing; all those fun things that come with the territory of not sleeping properly

-The scaring on his hands/arms is different, and he has additional scarring on his legs/feet (read more here)

-more freckles...this one is just bc i’m not a coward

-hair is a bit longer, just because he goes longer between cuts

-while his alpha and beta costumes are pretty much identical to canon, his gamma costume is a complete redux

-It’s hardly noticeable but there are callouses on his fingertips from using his gear

-A bit leaner, also as a result of not inheriting OFA; he has trouble putting on muscle mass comparatively

-Instead of wearing his sneakers with his hero outfit, he wears the boots for his hero outfit even out of costume. they’re still big, red, and ugly

so thanks to @steelhardpecs Deku now has a motorbike. I know what you’re thinking in the answer is;

yes, he absolutely does the thing where he drives in and jumps off the back, hitting a villain with the entire bike

For plot reasons Izuku’s encounter with Shigaraki in the mall pre training camp is pretty much the same as in canon. But realistically? Izuku always has a myriad of hidden weapons on his person at all times including fucking Mace which he keeps in his pocket for easy access.

So all I can think about is Shigaraki laying one (1) finger on Izuku and as a knee-jerk reaction Izuku sprays him directly in the eyes with Fucking Mace

And at first Izuku’s like “oh I’m so sorry you surprised me” and then he realizes this is the same fucker who tried to kill him at the USJ and he fucking Tases him (because he carries a fucking Stun Gun)

Shigaraki’s writhing on the floor like “you shitty brat this fucking hurts”
